The perfect electrical socket.
>>
>>106646316
Don't agree. With this type of socket the ground prongs sometimes get squished and that makes it hard to connect devices to it. The best in my opinion is type L. It has ground, its easy to connect, and it can be flipped around. Shame it isn't used more.

There is no use case for polarity in any properly designed appliance, minus gas heaters but those are usually wired in.

Can't decide what gender it is, socket looks like an axe wound in the wall.

With type F the ground is connected before anything else. As it should be in all electrical plugs.

I don't think it's specific to Belgium, appliances here in France are sold with these too.

Because Americans have shit ass power and you would blow up an American device if you plug it into a europan socket. So we can't let Americans in on a universal plug at least because they'd literally kill themselves if they tried the same device in Europe. They need special dummy plugs

The standard doesn't define which contact is live and which is neutral, so orientation is irrelevant.

No it's not, as 50% of all appliances get plugged in in reverse.
Makes designing electrical devices absolutely retarded, as you actually want to profit from knowing what is hot and what is natural inside the device but there is no way to ensure that you're plugging it in the right way. Would it have been so hard to make one prong round and the other square?
As for safety features and size, it's a pretty good plug and socket, much better than the colossal UK monster plug. Only downside is the PE clamps, as they can be retardedly stiff which makes plugging and unplugging unnecessarily difficult.
>>
>>106647327
I've seen wallwarts pull out of those under their own weight. Those are the absolute worst socket for safety and reliability. (The ones with the extra grounding pin are better.)

Give them some slack, it's not their fault.
(((The ones))) who decided that 120V is used in the US were actually those who sold the copper for the house wiring.

Shitty idea, requires relatively complex electronics to be built into the socket and if those break down it's a far bigger pain in the ass to replace than just plugging in another adapter into a regular socket. They also keep updating the PD spec and whatever the fuck on USB-C, I don't want to keep swapping wall sockets or to end up with inconsistent USB-C PD capabilities in multiple of those things around the house. Heat dissipation may be a concern too, one of those 100W+ PD adapters may get relatively warm, not sure it's a great idea to encase it in a wall.
>>
>>106649388
To low power, imagine running a kettle at 240W
>>
>>106649388
Seems like the perfect thing for pod living. Real appliances, those are for the wealthy and industrial use only. You will not use any device more than 100W and you will like it.
