>renders your plex/jellyfin server obsolete
>>106648007>yes goyim, rather than hosting your own media on your own drives, you should rely solely on some external, paid service that can go down or have its content removed at any time
>>106648164>some external, paid service that can go down or have its content removed at any timeWhat exactly would go down? Streaming directly from torrents? There's a self hostable stremio-server if that happens. If you're talking about debrid services there's plenty of them.Enjoy tinkering with your *arr stack
>>106648007Oh, so this is the latest iteration of popcorn time? How much of a scam is this one.
>>106648730Never used popcorn time. Stremio is open source and streams directly from torrents, instead of having to download everything you want to watch one time.
I don't like it because it won't let me be autistic about custom subtitles
>>106648007>I looove leeching and never anything contributing back!
nah, HDB, PTP and BTN is peak comfy. There's no chance streamio can match the quality and library size available to me
Only a matter of time before it gets shut down because it's incredibly popular now. Oh well, had a good run.
>>106648961I switched over to Torbox recently they act as a debrid provider and seedbox>>106648971>There's no chance streamio can match the quality and library size available to meI have yet to find a movie or show not available even the really old stuff is getting found by the scrapers, can also sort by release groups. The UI is simple and comfy
>>106649021You can't shut it down. It's the equivalent of Kodi, just meant for retards. The add-ons might sure, but even then stuff like torrentio just leeches torrents from different public trackers which always gets replaced.Real Debrid, a debrid service meant for the torrentio add-on to "avoid getting copyright notices", has already suffered legal matters earlier this year however because of TikTok finding out about it (still works imo)
I was going to set up the arr stack and then I discovered this shit... Its so easy retard normies can easily handle the setup, I've pointed a few in the right direction. >>106649021>>106649080I do feel like it's just too easy that they can't just let it continue. But even with the thing that happened with RD and the french govt, RD is still my preferred debrid at this point, the reindexing or whatever was only an issue for a couple months and even then, not that big of an issue >>106649052I want to like torbox, but it's just not quite as performant and extensive as RD>>106648971I never got into private trackers, so not denying your experience at all, but as a casualfag I find that obscure shit is more likely to be cached on a debrid than have active seeders on public trackers...
Oh also, be sure to check out debrid media manager for maximum comfyness
>>106649537At least you found it before setting it up, I spent a week setting up the *arr stack with jellyfin for full automation and only then found out about Stremio.>I want to like torbox, but it's just not quite as performant and extensive as RDI still have 3 months left on my RD until it runs out, the initial load time and cache difference is still noticeable between torbox and rd. They've been really active lately though and got alot more users, so hopefully they fill the gap until then.
>>106649759They're active in their discord and seem like theyre constantly trying to improve so I hope one day they'll be on par with RD. It's definitely gotten better, but there's still just enough issues that I find myself defaulting to RD
>>106648007They work for different viewing habits. I view stuff spontaneously so Stremio makes far more sense for that, but for people who would rather have a curated collection of stuff they plan to watch ahead of time, then a server makes more sense. You can also do both, stream the spontaneous stuff whilst hoarding long-term.
>>106650474>based impartial takeStill felt like shilling it, since it's much less known and talked about than plex and jellyfin, even though it meets most people's needs who just want to watch something in high quality without hoarding TB of movies and shows.
How idiot proof is this? Like if I set this up at grandmas house where she can figure out Jellyfin would it work for her?
