How long do you use an identity?
Do you follow that philosophy of anonymity? If you do, how hardcore?

Sometimes I create a new persona for a social scene, game or whatever. It will have password manager, vm config, fingerprints, IP, and all that everything that is unique to the persona, all the files saved to it etc.

I make friends with people as that person, sometimes for months or even multiple years, then one day I just delete the entire thing with a few keystrokes and purge it from my backups too, never to be accessed again.
It can sting for a little bit, and I will never find out what the other people felt about it either. Makes you wonder what's going on in all their lives.

How does /g/ manage their personas?

Damn son. I’m out here raw dogging with no VPN.

Well I mean, I'm not trying to be super anonymous like a spy, someone could trace it pretty easily with subpoena. It's more of a containerizing of the social realm.

I have a separate keepassxc for different identities. I do not use virtual machines or different fingerprints for them, but I do have separate browser instances. Before I used instances I would just delete all data from the browser, delete it from password manager, and move on.

There is one identity i had for 9 years that i still check up on. When you use one for long enough it gets really hard to give up the friends you made that way, too hard for me anyway. But for small gaming things like random mmorpg guilds i have just ghosted them yeah. I also never use a messageboard account for longer than a month or two.

i dont have a lot of accounts so idk i generally just fuckin raw the front page of places and try to get a sense of the general public opinion by comparing the front-page slop/most bumped threads on various sites and apps to one-another
i dont have any messengers installed or games or anything really
eh.

No one has a VPN on 4chin
>>
>>106652252
you wouldnt even want one anyway since itd give you away
you generally want a vaguely normalfag persona since not having one looks more suspicious than simp|y letting some of yourself show through
truly locking everything down makes you stick out like a sore thumb.

4chan can only block proxies it knows about.
There are many millions of IPs that no one knows are proxies.
>>
>>106652557
Oh my god you sound like a fucking retard.
Just call it what it is; a reverse ssh tunnel.
>>
>>106652560
If something is relaying traffic for me I shall call it a proxy if I want. For example VPN or SSH tunnel is a proxy.
The millions of phones that downloaded legal spyware apps enabling me to make this post over tor right now, those are proxies.

>>
>>106653699

>>
anonymous imageboard posting and actually being anonymous from a personal security standpoint are two completely different things
>>
