Personaly I think he's retarded, but does anyone agree?
I think people will develop vision impairments and this dude will not make accountable
>>106670765Smart glasses in their current state, no. But when we get full AR glasses that can replace & function like phones he's probably right. See: https://about.fb.com/news/2024/09/introducing-orion-our-first-true-augmented-reality-glasses/
>>106670765Yes, people do not realize how slow we interface with computing, especially AI models. There's an EMG demo where you can just whisper or mouth the words and it'll do voice to text by reading your throat muscles. If the glasses see what you see, you don't have to take pictures of what you want information on. The idea that you can look at anything, hear anything, or be in any situation and just telepathically ask an multi modal model anything and get an output right in front of you without pulling out a phone and pressing shit and waiting, that's insane and cyborg tier. Also if you think scrolling social media was bad for humans wait until kids wear eyeglasses that do all their thinking for them.
people said the same about phones and yet we still have full size computers at our desks. hmm
>>106670765people wanted google glass to worknow it just needs to photographic memory/facial recognition/dox

>>106670882Google glass already had that though. It had the benefit of no off switch also.
I don't keep up with faggy tech, but are these anything more than an ar display/input device for your phone?
>>106670765When I think about futuristic AR shit I tend to think more about eye-contacts with UI's and AI integration.I think it could be doable if it required you to have some kind of earpod that can listen to your inputs, and uses your phone's signals to get info like maps, places, and let's you reply to messages on Whatsapp using only speech input, among other stuff like vitals, time, etc.It would of course require data from your phone but I think it would be cool if you could download an offline data pack that let you download a lot of info of a certain map area (kind of like Google Maps). However I imagine that with current technology that may be impossible for now.I'm down with using a visor like the ones used on Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal to see the duels or the ones used in Dragon Ball, they could easily have a built-in battery, mic, a simple speaker, and some kind of camera or sensor that can read your eye-movements for easier UI navigation. They may look stupid but I think they can make them look cool and people may be down to use those as well if the design is cool.
they make even normalfags uncomfortable so probably not
Sure, in the same way the tablet was the next major computing platform.
