It generally does unless you ask it to install something that has dependency issues, accept the poor solution of uninstalling half of your system, and then type out "yes, do as I say" when it warns you it might not be a good idea.

not even a linux problem.
that's a pop! os problem.

people are too reliant on the poor apt package manager.
most people just accept it as the go-to. the apt's problems become synonymous with linux in the minds of the average user.
this is unfair to the humble kernel.

learned helplessness people can't figure out how to setup dependencies manually
and end up with bloated systems from buggy apt resolution or they get broken packages.

doesn't help that the average tech advice for any linux problem is
"hur durr just type: $ sudo apt install _program or library_"
truly galaxy brained technical support
>>
>>106698000
Linux users are retarded. They are literally just kids trying to act cool. Its cringe as hell. Linux still in its current state could never get anywhere near osx. Its simply too fragmented and too buggy

Because check how their development cycles look like, it's always a small team of autism-ridden spergs each having their own "divine purpose" for the free open-source garbage they do and none of these divine purposes have anything to do with usability or stability for the average user. MacOS works because it has to work in order to exist, if it wouldn't work nobody would buy it and it would disappear - only a FOSS cuck can say "ermm, use case?" and sniff his own fart when users are not satisfied with the product.

Genetic diversity is a meme btw. You don't inherit genes from all of your ancestors, only the recent ones. The only way to stay "race-mixed" is to continuously keep a stable race ratio for every generation of your lineage, and even with that in the long run some genes will eventually dominate others. This is why Drake has white baby and this is why you can only know if gen Z girl is a latina and not white if she tells you.

Because they don't control the hardware.
Apple "just works" because you only expect it to work with other Apple hardware. If something doesn't just work it's the hardware vendor's fault for not working with Apple.
Linux is the opposite, hardware vendors are openly hostile towards it but somehow most things still work. In the handful of cases they don't, it's considered to be Linux' fault.

I used arch when I was 14 and gentoo when I was 15. I have tried everything linux has to offer and its fucking unstable mess. Tried going back recently and gave up because its the same mess I remember back then. It was a fun learning experience back then but these days I need something that just works and linux definitely doesn’t without lots of terminal work. Its just not a good experience.

Well macOS is closed source and wholly managed by one major corp.

Linux is a catch-all term for a number of independent FOSS distros that are based on the Linux Kernel and (most of which contain) GNU components.

There is no "they" to "male linux just work" like macOS.

Some have (ElementaryOS for example)

Some just work better or easier than Mac (Mint, Pop!)

Some are more Stable than Mac but require knowledge (like Debian)

Some are wholly as working or not working as you want (void, arch, gentoo).

There are both people who have made exactly what you want, and distros that do more than Mac but require skill.
>>
>>106698087

you want something that just works ootb without much terminal usage... but you've only tried arch and gentoo? the two major distros which are the complete opposite of that?

i first tried linux when i was 14 as well, but i didn't try fucking arch or gentoo. i installed SimplyMEPIS on my laptop and just used it. browsed the web, used gaim, burned cd's, whatever. only time i think i touched the terminal was following instructions to install the ati graphics driver (and even then in hindsight that was only because the instructions were generic, there was a way to do that in the gui if i had known)

You can install whatever you want on a Mac, you just turn off the trusted developers option in settings and you can put whatever unsigned shit you want on it. It's only iPhones and iPads that are the walled gardens (except in Europe now).
>>
>>106713794
>Tries the least stable distro in existance
>Then tries the distro that requires you to build and compile every single aspect of itself

>concludes that all linux distros are unstable messes.

Great Scott anon. That's like going into a build-your-own sandwich shop, ordering the most popular but convoluted combo they have, the returning and ordering a series of random ingredients, and concluding that all sandwiches are bad.
>>
>>106721674
Mac users still surrender their data, their ability to use any and all hardware, their money, and their options to Apple. Also as a closed source OS, who knows what else you're sacrificing?

They make billions off of their user's backs and treat them like cattle.

Hello, I am OPs karetaker

When he was a little, he was hit by 3 consecutive trucks (very sad)
The computer is confusing to him, he comes crying to me often because it makes "weird noises" when it boots up, and struggles to go past the login screen
He saw colleague using linux, and saw the command line printing output (very scary), and he run to open his mac to feel safe.
Please understand his situation and be patient if he doesnt respond

the linux community is full of trannies and mal contents. Linux is being held together by Linus, who spends way too much time BTFO all the delusional trannies. When he retires it's gonna be such a fucking mess.
>>
>>106698000
As much as I hate Apple, they pay people to do exactly as they say (wether the pay is adeguate is another topic entirely). Linux developers have free will to do whatever the fuck they want. That's why there linux community is split into distros, GUI and whatever the fuck else. They can't agree on anything because they'll never be accountable for their errors.

>why this Youtuber in particular is being shilled?
LTT is being shilled a fuckton, and I bet a huge art of it is because he makes his coworkers work as literal slave for him shitting out at least 1 video per day. That's the main reason that chick left a year or so ago. Toxic enviromnent where they focus entirely on shitting out as much content as possible. It would be logical to also shill it here.
>>
>>106728391
I just hate him because he has insanely biased views more often than not and doesn’t know wtf he is even talking about most of the time
