Yes, it's perfect.
Bottom screws aren't covered by the mouse skates.
Battery is also screwed in instead of adhered.
The plastic feels a lot more durable, no gay rubber.
They actually designed it to be durable and easily repairable.
Surprising coming from LogiTel Aviv.

Feels like the 90s. Subpar for any high refresh rate monitor. A minimum of 500hz is needed for a modern screen.
>>
>>106700969
Did they increase the polling rate or still 125hz. Hard pass if still 125hz, instant buy otherwise.

Probably for battery life. Not meant as a gayman mouse and they also probably prioritize the sensor working when the surface isn’t optimal, whereas for gaming it’s reasonable that you’d use a mat

Been on the Deathadder train since 2013. The major fault with them is the scroll wheel, but now there's a cheap model for like $20, so having to buy a new one every few years isn't a big deal

I couldn't get used to the 3S and the weird scrolling wheel behavior

The G502X is not much more expensive and it fucking destroys it
>No silent buttons though
They sell boards with hotswap sockets on aliexpress for it and you can get huano yellow silent switches, that's what I did and it's fucking perfecto
>>
>>106704465
>The G502X is not much more expensive and it fucking destroys it
doesn't have the main attraction though which is the auto-switching scroll wheel. I got the Razer basilisk v3 pro which has a similar feature but it's really not the same. Logitech really struck gold with the scroll wheel in the mx master and they don't put it in any of their other mice
>>
>>106704490
Fuck do you mean that's essentially what made me ditch the fucking mouse, I was constantly having to make sure the wheel didn't switch into infinite mode if I didn't want it. It was ass.
Not to mention having to keep running this software in the background because it has no internal memory to save any settings at all.
>>
>>106704510
ok you didn't like it. so what?

>Not to mention having to keep running this software in the background because it has no internal memory to save any settings at all.
agreed, that is lame and hopefully they fixed that with the 4. Not nearly as important as with gaming mice though where I actually change quite a bit sometimes depending on the game. do still need software running if I want it to auto-switch depending on which game I'm on. Razer's software doesn't bother me too much though and historically Logitech's is awful

>still 125Hz polling
come the fuck on. Just do 250 man. You don't need anything more (not even for gaming) but you need to be able to at least reach the screen refresh rate. Running a 125Hz mouse on a 144Hz monitor feels like utter ass as it just stutters all over the place. This is genuinely deranged from them at this point and is going to make Keychron replace them here
>>
My g502 is fine but they keep using bargain bin microswitches that break. Luckily they are not difficult to replace but it still sucks that we have to do it. Using good switches would cost them like 10 cents more per unit but i suppose they would miss out on selling people a new mouse every 2 years. Roccat Tyon is the best mouse i have but that needs new switches too. Should get around to fixing them this weekend maybe. I have a bag of 60 million click switches

it's basically the same as mx master 3 except the wheel also lets you register being pushed left and right, as well as having an extra thumb button and an extra top middle button. and as long as you download legacy synapse 3 the software beats logitech shit hardcore. no thumb scroll, it takes 0 effort to configure using the regular scroll in 2 different modes if you need that. and there are more than enough buttons to make it seamless
>>
>>106709155
>it's basically the same as mx master 3
oh also the wheel doesn't feel THAT good, it functions the same, harder push automatically switches between step and continous flow, but it's achieved mechanically not via electromagnetism. but it's worth being able to register 3 different type of clicks seamlessly with the wheel

Really Logitech? I'm not one of those dumbasses that believes they can tell the difference between a 1kHz or 8kHz polling rate. But I will absolutely be able to tell if my mouse has a worse polling rate than my fucking monitor.

Get a Keychron M6 mouse instead. Similar shape, similar scroll wheels, similar sensor, half the weight, and has a polling rate that actually makes sense for this century.

I went from a Logitech MX Master 2S to a Keychron M6 8K a little over a month ago. Shipping to US was pretty awful with 2 weeks of wait. They also ended up sending me a white one instead of black, but I didn't really care too much about it. Apparently it's difficult to get the black version.

Mouse itself is great though. Shape and weight is definitely an improvement over the 2S. Texture on the M6 isn't really that special with no rubberized coating but apparently that was an issue for a lot of people on the 2S (I never had that problem though).

I notice a huge difference in smoothness though as my monitor is 165Hz and the 2S only had a 125Hz polling rate. Didn't realize how much jitter the 2S had before I switched over. Absolutely insane Logitech won't bump that up to at least 500Hz for their new one.
>>
>>106709419
Nice, thanks. Does it have something like smart scroll?
>>
>>106709429
The 2S has SmartShift if that's what you're talking about. If that is different from smart scroll then I'm not sure. I just kept it in freespin mode the entire time though.

The M6 only has manual switching. You click the toggle button behind the scrollwheel to switch between freespin/line scrolling.

I dunno. They advertise a sensor that is forgiving about the surface, and as far as I can tell there is a difference. It’s very consistent, albeit slow. So as far as I know it’s reasonable that the sensor that has that additional processing to smooth out the input isn’t as easy to iterate on to have faster polling rate and more dpi, etc. At the very least, not just an off-the-shelf high polling rate part. Maybe you know for certain somehow, but seems reasonable to me. And that kind of feature does appeal to the mx master type user. I just use different mice for gaming, but I have always liked the MX Master for work
>>
>>106707149
Not sure on the scroll wheel, but the basilisk v3 pro has optical switches, hard plastic exterior, 2 side buttons, plenty more dpi available than that, and the fancy switching scroll wheel (though not as good as Logitech’s. It does have the ability to choose your scroll tension, but you can’t choose the threshold where it switches to free-scroll and imo it’s way too low). That’s the big dawg wireless version though so maybe they skimp on some of that with the wired one

I bought one of the previous versions of this mouse a few years ago. It's a very good mouse, but after some time, the speed adjustment function stopped working and also the surface of the material got stick, feeling gross, almost as if permanently melting.

I have this except the X version, and the mouse wheel does not free spin anymore. It lost the ability to after like 6 months. Fucking bullshit, and no other mouses like it work properly in that regard either. Razer's mouse wheels fail too, but because their rubber gets loose and grinds against other parts of the housing, making the wheel stop spinning early.
My old, wired Proteus's wheel still does spin freely like a charm, and it's dusty as fuck.
