>building a webbrowser is a huge task, ladybird is the only option!!!!
Why does no body talk about the huge amount of independent web browsers? NetSurf for example has been getting bi-yearly updates since 2002. People act like theres only 3 browser engines, "then also ladybird", ignoring things like servo and the likes.
>>
Because a "web browser" has evolved from being a simple document viewer into a parasitic operating system. Making a document viewer is relatively easy, but making it keep up with whatever Google pulls out of its ass is the real hard part.

except google is supported
>>
>>106702000
I'm talking about the web standards that Google has been introducing over the years, not the search engine itself.
>>
>>106702014
yep, all supported
>>
>>106702023
Really? That's awesome, I ought to give NetSurf a chance sometime. Can you post here with it?
>>

this happens when you have outdated system libraries, not a netsurf issue

Does netsurf push everything on to the system?

because making a browser that actually works with modern web standards, renders all the content properly and has all the features of modern browsers is anything but easy
>b-b-b-but muh netscape works with google
No tranny, its not even remotely comparable to big, modern web browsers. You will get locked out of half online services out there
>>

but my netscape works with google

It gets ~20 visitors a month but still.

NetSurf has a live update feature where they can send updates over the air. They're not listed on their website, its just some sandboxed javascript they send.

Send your website i'll take a screenshot with netsurf

Webkit won, just use luakit.

>>106703658
You are implying that there can only be one winner. Plus, it's not a popularity test, what matters is support, and NetSurf supports everything you could throw at it.

Netsurf sucks since they started using gtk3 and they also roll their own libraries for everything. Dillo is way better and more secure, and looks like a good browser too.
Nothing against you OP though, i used to know about netsurf only too. The library shit is inexcusable though, same thing with palemoon and this weird trend of forcing upstream libraries. I don't trust your libraries, my OS is just better at dealing with that.

Yeah that's how that works

That page clearly states at the top that it was last updated in 2012. It is outdated. You are the "lying faggot".
>>106703999
Do you even know what a CDN is? Of course they work. They sit in front of a server and cache shit, it looks no different to the browser. And yes financial websites work great.

fuck scripting guys, no point in using le old browser when you want post 2010 technology. i'm posting from another PC with another browser right now, but my main rig has dillo and i mostly use no JS websites.
