I remember when MSN Messenger first launched. At the time AOL was dominant, and Microsoft set up MSN Messenger so it could connect to AOL's network. Then AOL would block them. Then Microsoft would update to make it work again, rinse repeat. Eventually MSN overtook AOL and they stopped trying to hack them.
