8TB SSD is all you need.
You don't need more.

8TB local storage, 2TB system

I still use a 500GB OS drive and it rarely dips below 120GB. 2TB seems like a waste for such a use case.
>>
Multiple drives >>> one big drive

It’s especially helpful if you distro hop a lot since you can keep your install drive separate.

256gb of ram is all you need, you don't need more.

But why can't we have a 10TB ssd?

8tb is too small to store bulk media and uselessly large for PCs.
>raid array of 20tb hard drives for bulk media hoarding
>1tb OS drive
>4tb gaymer or general data drive
Truly all you need.

Because your bulk storage is on your file server. Who would put HDDs in their desktop anymore.
>>
>>106707891
14TB HDD is 250

I need more. 2x8TB RAID0 gen5
>>
>>106709650
What the fuck does that have to do with anything? Who cares where you host bulk storage a single 8TB ssd is not "all you need".

I was talking about anon doing a RAID0 with Gen5 NVMe SSDs, that's already DDR4 RAM speeds.

If a game is bigger than a gigabyte you don't need it.
If a video is above 360p quality that's a waste.
No audio should ever go above 128kb mp3.
No PNGs either, only JPEGS.

IMAGINE buying a computer with the ability to compress anything you throw at it and still deciding to store obviously bloated files.

What's the point of distro hopping all the time?
>>

500 is a little small. Once you start downloading AI models and the like your drive fills up fast. I've been at the stage for the past few years where I pretty much have to archive new movies I've downloaded on my NAS every week or so in order to free up space before downloading a new movie.

No its not nearly enough. Even 16tb nvme won't enough for me
