Continuing from the latest thread my build then looks like this:Cpu: ryzen 7 9800X3DBoard: Asus TUF gaming B850Gpu: asus prime rtx 5070tiDrive: samsung 990 pro 2tbRam: patriot viper venom rgb 32gb 6000 cl30Fan: thermalright phantom spirit 120 sePsu: cooler master mwe Gold 850 v3Case: msi mag forgeThank you for warning me about the asrock board. What do you think about the ram? is this one good?No overclock in mind, I will make it last many years, probably a gpu swap down the line, mostly for gaming an 3D modeling, sculpting, texturing and rendering.
>>106717348>and ran my stress testsIs this a real thing I need to care about? I don't remember anything like that when I built my first computer 12 years ago. How do I even do this, what am I supposed to be figuring out with these tests?
>>106720804if you're just doing the standard 6000c30 you can just download occt and run auto stress test
>>106720804>Is this a real thing I need to care about?maybe>I don't remember anything like that when I built my first computer 12 years agointel wasn't pushing their CPUs as hard back thenAMD was (FX-9590) but no one bought those>what am I supposed to be figuring out with these tests?if the system is stable or not
>>106720804right up until people decided to use ram that didnt work at the claimed speeds and there was a trend of "undervolting" you did not need to be worried, but here we are
Why do cringy PC-building youtubers/tiktokers call themselves "system integrator"? Hermano you're online marketer.
>>106720804I'm the poster you're replying to. I have never stress tested a build before, but I plan on selling this rig so I figured it was good practice. Like the other anon said, I just ran a few 5 minute OCCT tests. Could have been more thorough but I was satisfied personally.
can this piece of shit handle an i9 13/14k?
As a budgetfag with a relatively strict budget, should I go for a 'high end' 5060 TI 16GB (Asus Prime) or a 'low end' RTX 5070? (Zotac, I think?). I know that the 5070 will have better raw performance, but I am only doing 1080p, and I'd prefer a quieter card, which I assume the 'better' model 5060 will be.
>>106720906Both pretty quiet you dont need "high end" cooler for a 180W card. Either save money and get a cheaper 5060ti or the 5070. The 5070 undervolt pretty good and you can easily run it at the same tdp as the 5060ti without losing any performance.
>>106720901it's right on the edge of acceptablenote that they're using 125W PL2 in the power limited tests, which is not stock behavior on a 14900Khttps://www.hwcooling.net/en/msi-b760m-gaming-plus-wifi-a-cheap-motherboard-with-a-surprise-review/34do you already own the board? 14700K and a board that can handle higher power draw/memory frequency would give you better performance
>>106720948>do you already own the boardyeah and already have the 12700k, i was just thinking of a possible future upgrade i was thinking of returning it and getting an aorus board which i assume has better vrms but i really like my ps/2 keyboard
>>106720679bumping this, my build looks similar to this and i wanna know what other anons think
>>106720976i'd get a 14700K and set a power limit of like 200 Wshould keep the VRMs nice and cool and if you undervolt it will still maintain stock performance or betterall you get with a 14900K is 4 more E-cores (so the same as 1 more P-core) and a higher default turbo binthe 14900K needs higher voltage to run 60x than a 14700K needs to run 56x, so it's not like the silicon is significantly betternot worth it IMO
i have a 1060 6gb, feel just a tiny bit of need to upgrade but i'm a cheap fuck so should i wait? what's good on the horizon
>>1067210145070 super is worth waiting untill around Q1 next year if you have >600$ budget for the gpu.

Where are people buying their Windows 11 Pro keys nowadays?
>>106721014if you're not upgrading your whole system consider getting something used, i was looking into getting a 5060 but it seems as though a 3070 will preform better on my AM4 system because PCIe bandwith.
>>106721209I buy them from the AMD leaker man’s link, they seem pretty low priced and I’ve never had an issue.

Anyone have monitor recommendations? It seems the only one worth getting is the gigabyte AORUS FO32U2P.
I know this might be a dumb question, but I'm looking into getting a new monitor, particularly an ultra wide curved one. Should I go with a OLED if I do anything besides play games/watch movies/surf the web? I draw/write a good amount and like to have multiple file explorer windows open with tons of reference up. I've read burn-in can be a major issue with OLEDs after a few years and I don't really want to replace a 1k+ usd monitor after after 2-3 years.
