I'm thinking of upgrading to Windows 11 from Windows 10 because a program I use requires it. Any downsides to Windows 11?
>>
>>106731608

if you don't have tpm 2.0 it won't even install. and no, the "allowunsupported..." reg key bypass / rufus + iso doesn't work anymore.

>Any downsides to Windows 11?
Yes. It's not Windows 7.
>>
>>106731631
Yeah you were right. Doesn't meet the requirements... Shit. I'm waiting for the new CPU's so it's going to take another year until I can get a new PC.
>>
>>106731608
Ignore the baby ducks and misery-loves-company liars ITT. Not neccessarily in that order.
No, not really - if you meet the minimum support requirements. They exist for a reason - the virtualization-based security that permeates Windows 11 is reliant on a processor feature that came in with Coffee Lake (where it's called MBEC) and Zen+ (where it's called GMET). Windows 11 has fallback code if these features are missing, but at a horrible performance hit - up to 40% in pathological cases.
Missing a TPM is actually the most minor of inconveniences: you just lose the ability for BitLocker to automatically unlock your Windows drive at startup - that's it. If you have a modicum of security awareness and use a boot-time password, this doesn't affect you in any way.
All the install-time checks remain completely bypassable with a couple of registry tweaks, even in the 25H2 Release Preview, and of course every "install helper" utility (Rufus, Ventoy, NTSetup etc.) applies them as a matter of course.
>>
>>106731631
The bypass on Microsoft's website allowed me to install it last week (no TPM and 6th gen CPU). The BypassNRO even worked as well. This was with 24H2.

OP, what program do you use that really requires Win11?

Of course. It was a clickbait nothingburger that all Reddit variants (this one included) fell for.
It also exists in the 25H2 RP.
Reason 2^19937-1 not to outsource your thinking to Youtube.

Use massgrave on Windows 10 to switch your Windows version to Enterprise so you'll get another 3 years of free updates.

Why did they remove the ability to move the taskbar to different edges of the screen and change its size? Why did they remove the local account option from the installer?
>>
>>106731631
Rufus still works.
>>106731608
This removes the bloatware and makes it usable. It's still shit but if you need Windows it's the best option.

Nvm I just had to turn on TPM and Secure boot
>>
>>106731892
I turned all that garbage off. I'm not a corpo faggot so I of no interest as a target from the security stand point. I care about latency and snappiness. Windblows 11 microdicks suck ass in this regard even when stripped and tweaked.

Imagine an OS where the 'updoots' do more than malware, kek. Well, in fact you don't have to. Just install Jeetmond approved modern windows os.

This is where poorfags give themselves away. They disable VBS (core integrity etc.) as a matter of course, which gives them massive speedups - which only happens because their shitboxes are below minimum specs and don't support MBEC/GMET.

These are only experienced by the poor, and they deserve it. For the civilized world, W11 is rock solid nowadays.

I'd argue it always was, if a little unfinished.
It's just the Vista effect: hardware has caught up in the last 3 years, and even generationally welfare-dependent NEETs are finding Alder Lakes and Zen 3s in dumpsters now.

Because we have a concept of "fairness". We also like improving the world and the people in it, regardless of colour, creed or religion. We aren't tribal animals.
This is succinctly termed "White man's burden".
We're (re-)discovering that you can't take the jungle out of the subhuman however, and that's where the pushback in recent years is coming from. The fact that we allowed subhumans into our ruling classes, thinking they could be capable of behaving like White people, is causing problems however.

Avoiding something just to "fit in" is an incredibly midwit thing. Feel free to use linux if your needs dictate, I won't stop you (you're welcome), but treating it like a religion or as part of tech bone fides is pathetic.
>too brainlet for Linux
Installing and using linux requires no talent whatsoever, it's not impressive.

Hence why it's so popular on Reddit, Politically Incorrect Reddit, Jew Worshipper Reddit, etc.
>>

Well, we are talking about the "people" who switched to Linux because they couldn't disable pride flags or Windows updates - y'know, the things that are well-documented, two-click procedures.

I'll at least give credit to linux users who develop an understanding of the kernel or say learn SELinux, App Armour etc., but there's just so many neofetch posers who preach enlightenment without even knowing why.

https://github.com/winapps-org/winapps
If it doesn't work in the browser you can use WinApps. It's good enough for office software, even though it's emulated.
It'll just take up a bit of space.
There is also a Photoshop script and modified installer files on GitHub somewhere, if you need it.

Why the fuck would a program require Windows 11 instead of working on Windows 10? There should be no technical reason for this.
>>
>>106735101
not me, talk to OP. I don't have time to waste on shitty OSs and installing them twice just to make it work lmao.

>>106738620
The program I'm using is Shaderglass. Windows 10 has a security feature that makes a yellow border around a program when it's screen recording and it cannot be turned off. With Windows 11 you can turn it off.
