Are (You) struggling? I got my CS degree last year and gave up on job search. Now I work minimum wage at Walmart. wby?
>Something is happeningWhoa, such incredible insight, no wonder he is a leading CS professor.
>>106732842Yeah I spent half my 20s unemployed and eventually gave up after finally getting a high paying day job culminated in training my Indian replacements and covid psyop after a few years.I was going to look for work after the covid psyop to avoid being pressured into taking the extermination shot to avoid homelessness, but that bullshit went on for another 2-3 years and there's no way I'm getting hired now with more freshly laid off people looking than ever.
if degreecels are so skilled, why don't they just employ themselves?
>>106732842I've done construction for 20 years, never had to worry about work.
IBS HABBENING !!!!
>>106732842I'm making $400k yearly right now doing comp sci. Got my bachelor's 5 years ago and my masters last year
>>106732842I had the opposite happening to me. I flunked out of CS first year and am now working full-time at a comfy software solutions firm where I can work from home.
>>106732917By "construction" do you mean blowing homeless hobos under construction sites at midnight?
>>106732932>>106732931Onlyfans pays that much?
>>106732842same, I sent my last job applications on friday
>>106732937Sure mr. "up to eyeballs in student dept with no job prospects in sight".
>>106732894why don't you just fake your employment history like any jeet would?
>>106733029Who said I did CS? I'm a Chem eng who shitposts here daily to see the agony of CS retards playout for my amusement. Im here for the same reason as you: schedenfreuder
I was a machinist for a decade, made shitty wages in shitty conditions with shitty managers and shitty coworkers because even 15 years ago, it didn't seem like a good idea to take CS. Now I've been at a hotel for a few years, going to school for radiography. Can't wait to get into a hospital and make some good fucking money for once.
>>106733052Too white.
>>106732911TrvthnvkeEven jeets can get code monkey skills. The real valuable stuff is being able to start and run a business to make profit.
>>106733108It's Schadenfreude t. German CS student preparing for a life of unemployment
6 months into my job search. I have an interview in a few hours. Wish me luck!
>>106734165I get paid too much to have to artificially elevate my value being a spelling nazi. I leave that yo the CS slaves with no other value except to split hairs on coding styles and spelling.
>>106732842>got my degree 6 years ago>NEETed the last 5 years>sent one cv>skipped the interview>got the jobIt's literally that easy. Just have some nice pet project. They don't pay much, but it's a good start and I can work from my bed.
>>106732842took me 10 months to get my current job. but to be fair, I passed on a couple offers. market is really trash rn.t. 20yoe coder
>>106732931>n=1 proves everyone is just like meThis is why everyone makes fun of you computards.
the bullies became shy and realize it's better to mutilate you on the street. Continuation of, Bill's telltale. And then religion, well, you got zombified by default. and it fail to, cure you, even after all its showy show chirping
>>106732917But construction fucks up your body. You will have to worry about that instead
Give it to me straight. How important is stuff like github, linkedin profile? Should I get badges and put bunch of ai tech shit there for HR hoes to choose me over rajeesh?
>>106734302nobody even reads that shit, just make sure your resume passes the ai checks
>>106734302For a lot of the best companies, it's most of what they care about, but the vast majority of employers won't look at all.
>>106734299This is a myth perpetuated mainly by retards who don't use PPE, don't use proper lifting form, do tasks in a manner that's unnecessarily strenuous to prove that they're "tough" (e.g. carrying too much shit at once, not using proper leverage, not working together with others), etc.
>>106734457oh i definitely know you are larping now. there isn't a work site in the world that isn't on a constant time squeeze which is pushed through in a hurry with less people avaible than required to do the work safely.
>>106734457Fucking retard
>>106732842Read that article. It basically said "use AI to help you get jobs. :)"
>>106734189Nigger, spell checking is a solved problem and if you want to be an obnoxious faggot and use words from a different language in your sentence you should at the very least be able to spell them correctly.>CS slavesslaves have work anon...
As someone without a tech background I don't understand this. In my country (Germany) I see so many job listings for IT/cs, so clearly the demand is there. Is this jobless cs grad trend only a thing in NA because of jeets? And shouldn't that be done soon when the h1b visas will be revoked?
Enjoy flipping burgers
>>106734910it's a psyop to discourage people from picking up coding/cs so (((they))) can sell their ai slop easier. the jobs are there, enough for poos and normies
>>106734910Job listings aren't jobs. They're job listings.
>>106732842i should be graduating next year, but i need to do some kind of internship in the field as a part of my degree which is pretty cancerous. apparently even getting an internship around here is extremely difficult. fuck this fucking degree and fuck this field. i just want to be a neet and learn to code on my own for fun.
>>106734514There is in Switzerland, but still i'd not want that job.
>>106732842Hs dropout here. I work with animals for less than minimum wage. Honestly I'd rarher be dead, but that would make mom extra sad.
Your job is in India, all of your jobs are in India, they moved everything entry/junior/mid level over to it. Yes you should be revolting
>>106732842wtf is a "leading" "professor"?
>>106732842I struggled in my 20s for seven years to find full time work. 37 now and have had stable employment for 7 years since. I am debt free with almost a quarter million in net worth now. Keep on trying to apply and keep a positive attitude. Sooner or (way) later, something will click and you’ll get your chance.
>>106734176Good luck, anon.
>>106736471just remember anon, you're one job loss away from having a totally different opinion
>>106736074It means he is a professor at the sixth best university in the world and gets paid to look at computer generated porn while deciding if it's a deepfake or not. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hany_Farid
>>106734457So which is it, a myth or bad practice? I worked in construction as well and know that 1 - there's a culture of stretching the rules to get things done faster, and 2 - you're still going to get random injuries even when you're being good
nope, it's like in that meme where normies destroy every nerd hobbypeople who work in IT don't care about programming or the hacker movement at all. if they even know the true definition of hacker. normies who barely can use their PCs but hey they are a good culture fit and will learn on the job :)
>>106732842I recently finally got a real dev job 2 years after graduating, after working various shitty blue collar jobs.My recommendation to others in the same boat would be to work in jobs that are tech-adjacent like server admin, electrical, industrial automation, machine operation and put out several applications every day. Even if they have nothing to do with programming they'll make your resume look better.
