I don't know crap about openrc but systemd was designed to normalize configurations instead of having a bunch of shell scripts, so of course it's easy to start/stop services. Where I think systemd fails is the CLI is a complicated mess.

That's my experience, as mostly a Gentoo / openrc user. Not sure why PipeWire is apparently special in this regard.
