3.5 *was* better than opus, and I can tell you why. Opus was in love with himself and not char. Opus didn't care about char in the slightest and wrote the cringiest things imaginable but at least the "muh swipe variety" crowd was pleased. A few things about Gemini 3. First, it does still like the smell of ozone, and sometimes it'll find a way to incorporate "It isn't X, it's Y", but I only see that once per story (I'm just generating stories as I'm using through AI studio UI), and I'm pretty sure they'd be easy to remove with proper prompts in a preset. But the writing is really good, naturally it doesn't use purple prose, and it is quite happy to write smut. Overall, I think it'll be the king of rp when released

Gemini probably won't be any better. The data available is just what the model provider can scrape from outside sources, not the game directly. If no one is painstakingly cataloging a character's voice lines, describing their personality, etc, then it has nothing to go on.

Yeah, I think that was a fluke. The opening message was from Opus 3 and 4.5 took a page from its book. It's still pretty cool how it can imitate 3pus' mad poet aura though, Opus 4.1 can't do that. It's similar to the Claude 4 models, but it's not as stiff.

It's a real bummer. I was pretty pumped for a moment there, thinking that Anthropic had brought back Claude 3's personality:/ But nope Opus 3 is still the king.
