I can't watch any youtube video anymore without logging in after watching 2 videos with mpv and ytdlp plugin. Try it yourself you'll see.

All this AI shit creating problems like this "sign in to confirm you're not a bot".

it is struggling a bit
it currently doesn't work on xhamster
it will require an entire javascript runtime to download from youtube in the future
what a world

This shit has extractors for every obscure site imaginable, but will refuse to work on known piracy sites (e.g. shitty movie streaming sites) for no reason except for the devs virtue signalling or something

If they use m3u playlists internally (they probably do) you can still use yt-dlp or even just ffmpeg
>>
>>106740036
I watched several videos today and I'm currently watching a livestream with mpv and also running another yt-dlp instance to archive that stream

He's not but for me it was more likely to happen using freetube and not pipepipe.
Google is being faggots now and it wasn't a thing until last year in my case.
Best bet is to start the video on data if mobile then go to wifi to avoid the block, works for me.

I swear there are sites where they use m3u but they're blacklisted in yt-dlp.

if you know a blocked site you could probably locate and modify the blacklist easily enough

You don't need two instances. You can just open the file that appears the moment your start recording and you'll be able to watch it live without using twice the bandwidth. At least it works when playing it with mpv

yt-dlp doesn't use your browser cookies unless you ask it to do so
So your youtube account isn't involved by default

>>106743657
Why did op do it? When do you need the cookies with yt-dlp?
>>
>>106743705
Op got his IP blocked, not his account. Getting your IP blocked will make it so Youtube won't let you download videos without an account for a while (in which case you'll have to use cookies)
It usually happens when you download a shitton of data in a very short amount of time
yt-dlp has options to limit your download rate and add a random sleep time between each requests/downloads to minimize chances of this happening if you're downloading entire channels for example

works on my machine, I just don’t download all the time. You have to make your activity look normal, which means using YouTube’s site occasionally and not just bulk-streaming huge amounts of data.
>>
>>106740500
This is the only big problem it has. Otherwise, great tool, op is a fag
>>
Stop downloading videos chud...
>>
At this point just archive using webrecorder, which just saves and replies the whole stream of data from the javascript.
>>
>>106739980
I'd consider that as a feature

It happens when you download like 200GB of videos per day
>>
>>106745137
how does youtube notice or know
>>
>>106745137
why do you need 200gb of vids for
throttle it to avoid their rate limit. i just updated my yt-dlp from a half year older version and i noticed they added delays between downloads if there's multiple in the URL you gave (some instagram videos are like that)

>>106745178
their server sees requests coming from your IP, they track each IP downloading from youtube and how much it downloaded in X time so if you go too hard they block you. otherwise you could easily have bots overwhelm their server with fake downloads
>>
>>106742811
Thanks for the script, anon! At my next task meeting I will bring up that we should retune our detection for aberrant downloads to require a 91 second interval.
>>
>>106740218
It's more the AI crawler bots that create the problem.

Every company doing video AI is currently downloading fucking everything on YouTube driving up their bandwidth costs.
>>
OP here
I unironically watched like 3 videos with freetube using open in mpv until my ip got banned.

Heres how:

>simplescreenrecorder (linux) record a rectangle of your own choosing, with sound

>brave browser (is able to jump over most commercials)
>>
>>106745186
Why not just put in the url onto a website that lets you download? They wouldnt be able to see that
>>
>>106740500

i use fedora kde which comes with spectecle by default.
as for ads use sponsorblock, it doesnt work for some very new/low view videos but for most shit it skips both ads and filler parts of the video.
>>106745399
iirc those sites are very slow/unreliable. i bet they just run yt-dlp under the hood and send you the file. its faster/easier to download it on your own just. just use the --limit-rate option until you're not blocked.

personally ive never had any problem with blocks/throttling just running yt-dlp normally. the only options i typically use is -F -f to pick lower resolutions and --cookies-from-browser because some sites dont work some times without it. the most ive downloaded is a 1h 1080p video idk maybe if you're downloading whole days of 4k video you get throttled
>>
>>106745455
`--cookies-from-browser` will get your account banned, possibly permanently. Don't use it, unless you have an unlimited supply of accounts. You all are welcome.
>>
>>106745473
>unless you have an unlimited supply of accounts
What would be the recommended way to...acquire an unlimited supply of such accounts_
>>
>>106745320
should have used `--limit-rate 0.8M`
>>

what's more funny is the fact that the platform is overrun with bots each with their own account. when has the 'logging in" requirement ever stopped a bot? shit is beyond retarded.
