I think the app is slightly better than Spotify but still not great.
Offline listening worked fine for me, I don't think it needs any traffic except being logged in.
Sound quality is perfect.
The recommendation algorithm is ass.

Tell me where I can affordably buy a high quality FLAC set of Super Tramp's Breakfast in America.

Tell me what it would cost to recreate my 4,000 song library on Spotify and then divide that by the annual spotify cost and let me laugh at you when you figure it out.

Literally every alternative to a subscription based music service is time consuming, costly, and in general pointless.

Spotify’s “30 minutes of ad-free listening” promotion isn’t literally a guaranteed half-hour timer after you accept the offer. It’s more of a marketing shorthand. The actual mechanics work like this:

Trigger: You watch or listen to a sponsored ad (e.g., a video ad).

Reward: In return, Spotify suppresses ads for up to 30 minutes.

Conditions: The length can be shorter depending on Spotify’s ad inventory, licensing requirements, or session interruptions (pausing, skipping, app closing, etc.). The “30 minutes” is the maximum, not a minimum guarantee.

Legally, this is allowed because advertising claims only need to be not misleading under consumer protection laws. Since Spotify phrases it as “up to 30 minutes” in their terms (even if the app interface makes it look absolute), they’re covered. The fine print usually discloses that the experience may vary.

If a service does what you want it to do, great. Half the shit I want to listen to isn't even on there and I hate the business model of losing your entire library the moment you stop paying, I'm more of a "pay once (or never) & keep forever" kinda guy.
>Tell me where I can affordably buy a high quality FLAC set of Super Tramp's Breakfast in America.
If it's not on Bandcamp, you can always rip a CD.

Pretty sure you're legally allowed to make a backup copy of a CD that you own, either to another CD or a hard disk. So if you bought a copy of Trout Mask Replica on CD back in 1989 and it's buried somewhere in your garage, then you already own a licence to listen to that music. Sure, you could dig up an old CD-ROM drive, open it up to wipe the lens, order an IDE to SATA converter off Aliexpress and rip the cunt, only to find out that track 8 has unfixable skipping. Or, you could just grab a FLAC off a sailing website of your choice and achieve the intended end result in as little as 14 seconds.

not being able to PICK WHICH FUCKING SONG it should play being only allowed to skip FIVE TIMES is one of the most jewish things i had ever experienced.
it's not even about paying for premium, but paywalling the most basic features of a music player is insanity to me. all of which ON TOP OF ALREADY PLAYING SHITTONS OF ADS.
i mostly listened to podcasts so i just ended up using AntennaPod instead and it's so much better. every time an episode ended spotify would play unrelated TrannyPodcast2.0 and then this shit would pop up in my recommended. blows my fucking mind how normalniggers can stomatch this

since when?
>>106750313
>not being able to PICK WHICH FUCKING SONG it should play being only allowed to skip FIVE TIMES is one of the most jewish things i had ever experienced
Holy shit I keep forgetting that this is even a thing on Spotify, suddenly I remember writing somewhere with one of my friends a few years ago and we skipped a few annoying songs and I asked why he wasn't skipping the current song and he said he couldn't, and I was so confused.

I just installed cassette receivers with CD changers in two of my cars and I've been having a blast using them, they work almost completely perfectly and I don't even miss having Bluetooth anymore, I just don't care.
I have a cassette recorder here at the house and I took it with me to the nursing home today because a band was playing and my grandma wanted to see it, I just recorded that music on the tape and now I can play it here at the house, in the car, or wherever else I want to. If I really do want it on the computer, then I already have a cassette deck at my computer for recording, so I can do that.

It's also the easiest possible form of piracy. You plug a cassette recorder into your computer and you simply lie to it. You tell it that you've plugged in a pair of headphones. Your computer doesn't know. Your computer doesn't know that you're actually recording music to another medium. A medium that you can play back at any time.
Hell, if you really wanted to, you could pipe Spotify into a cassette deck and just hit pause whenever the advertisements come up. That's how people did it back in the day with the radio.

Actually, I take it all back, don't do any of this, I'm sick of millennials driving up the prices of old technology that I actually use because nostalgia or whatever. There is no reason that cassette changers should be $300 on eBay when none of them even work anymore because all the belts have turned into rubber goo.
