Duckduckgo is the poopiest of poop search engine. Is there no option other than google?
>>
Brave search is decent. Self hosted searxng is probably as good as it gets if you are concerned about privacy
>>

DuckDuckGo uses Bing results. I don't know why fucktards keep promoting it.

Startpage uses Google. Use that.
>>
>>106743068
It's absolutely fine, I use it everyday, only some rare searches like 1/10 don't work or reverse picture searches, that's all.
When it's the case I open a private tab and use g*ogle.

Brave absolutely Big Brothers you, the very point of using ddg.
>>
>>106743068
What do you want the to search?
>porn and piracy?
Yandex
>shopping and academic papers?
Google
>programming and technical info?
Use a decent LLM.
>>
DuckAI is pretty handy. I won't register to access a model

>>106743260
Also links to Yandex search results keep showing up. What's up with that?
>>
>>106743369
>DuckAI is pretty handy.
This. I use it very actively for trivial and small shit.
>>
>>106743294
>Brave absolutely Big Brothers you
DDG is literally just a frontend for Bing, I dunno how you think its any different
>>

>DuckAI is pretty handy
I mostly use it to get Claude to help me on my porn parody scripts such as American Psychosexual with Patrice Masturbatesman and Jambo: First Blowjob Part 1.
>>
>>106743068
It gives wrong search results almost everytime, and if it does give relevant links, it directs me to outdated shit that doesn't work. I hate to use google, but it gives the exact thing I want almost everytime
Brave search is slightly better then shitshitgo
>>
>>106743068
DDG has been better than Google for years on everything except image search. Now that Google has completely gimped image search DDG even has more features.
>>
nope
>>
>>106743068
>please sar use the google search engine, it's your only option
how about no
>poopiest of poop search engine
Of course it's an indian.

Yandex image search was so fucking good at their start they had to nerve it down somehow.
>>
>>106743068

I noticed that Yandex image search started to suck ass shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine.

I wonder if the west promised to not block the domain if Yandex gimped the search engine, or if they decided to make it worse all on their own.
>>
>>106746903
the jew owner relocated the company to the Netherlands
>>
>>106746950
that can't be true, it just can't
>>
DDG was nice at first because it was simple with no in your face bs.
Now they have dumb defaults like ads, infinite scroll turned off, AI answers, and generally more dumb shit that makes private browsing worse.
Also all the Bing censorship and results filtering which is now really bad.

Something I'm annoyed over is that they have broken one of the core promises of putting the search results first on the page (as in directly beneath the search field) and all the automated extra info boxes on the right side. Applies to snippets, AI "answers", ads, and everything else.

Today's zero click search results isn't very good for Internet sustainability. Small websites will die off one by one until we have only big ones left that can survive without search engine traffic.

>>106748341
It was recipe results (Yummly) doing this that gave me the first inkling ddg might be just another jewish trick.

We will return to web directories.
>>
>>106743068
who cares about their search engine? have you seen their email capabilities?
duck.com/email

thank me later
