Are kensington trackballs good? Thumb vs finger trackballs?
i've never used trackballs before.

Finger trackballs.
I use a kensington orbit with scroll wheel wired. That model in the picture is effectively the same but lacks the scroll wheel. Definitely go with the one with the scroll wheel.

What you actually need is rawaccel. I use MX Ergo.

Download rawaccel use natural gain curve.

The point is you will speed up moving when you move the ball faster, so you dont have to reposition your finger's place on the ball to get across the screen
