What are the downsides between a regular gpu and an egpu with thunderbolt4 vs thunderbolt5 vs pci?
Limited bandwidth can hurt performance and it's more expensive.

SFF is the only rational option, the bios on these mini pcs are very basic and shit, they're OK for when you're travelling I guess, with an sff build you can get a good motherboard and as much ram as you want

It's a shame this type of gpu dock isn't standardized in some way, it's more convenient than oculink and you get the full speed of your card
