Multiple desktops are global across all displays.
Creating a new virtual desktop gives a blank slate across all displays.
Application instances tied to virtual desktop they are running on.
>Mac OS
Virtual desktops tied to individuals monitors.
Creating a new virtual desktop gives a blank slate for the specific monitor.
Instances of an application not tied to a specific virtual desktop, and tend to get garbled up during reboots and when plugging a laptop into external displays.
>Why
The fuck did Steve Jobs insist this was a good idea?
Has Apple insisted that this is "the way"
Still claim to have the most advanced desktop OS when their GUI design is this shitty?
>>
why should the application have anything to do with the desktop? that's retarded. macos used to werk just fine but its window manager got jeeted around the time of "apple silicon"

I would like macOS to only show icon of apps belonging to the virtual desktop on the dock. I don't want someone to accidentally open the firefox window where transflix dot is opened

Probably due to multiple monitors not being native to MacOS. It's primarily intended for laptops or iMacs with a single built in display. Linux and Windows have been far more likely to be used in multi-monitor setups over the past several decades.
>>
Just use your computer the way Apple intends you to. Have you ever seen an ad where someone is using multiple Studio Displays? Get real.

Did they seriously bring the toggle bullshit to macOS?
