Why are they forcing wayland?
Cool stuff like HDR. You wouldn't get it.
>>106749641Because fuck anyone who needs a screen reader, virtual keyboard or a non-standard input device.
>>106749645I'd rather my mouse be captured properly in games instead of slipping out of the window/screen all the time.
>>106749641Probably to misdirect when it *krashes* - they can plausibly blame the equally-shitty Gayland.
>>106749641If they actually go Wayland-only, I'm building it from source and using the same version forever.
>>106749658Yeah now it refuses to release the mouse forcing you to ctrl-fkey just to htop and kill the game
>>106749641>NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHY WONT PEOPLE SUPPORT MY OLD ASS HARDWARE FOR LIFEthis is why no one takes loonixtards seriously. It's an absolute nightmare to deal with it's community of contrarians.
>>106749641its for your own benefit you stupid little babby, its for your own good, why do you keep resisting every change pushed by IBM and redhat? for what reason when it feels good to use them? everyone likes it you dumb silly retard
>>106749672You don't need to build it from source if you're going to pin the version. First day with linux distros?
>>106749641Cool fsutf ilke Segmentation fault (core dumped) HDR. You wouldn't *KRRRRRRASSHHHH*
>>106749686What?you replied to the wrong fag you fag.
>>106749641just use xfce or cinnamonno need to waste time with any other bullshit
>>106749674To be fair, 7iggers and LTNPCs are the same, and probably even dumber than freetards (if that's indeed possible).
>>106749686>You don't need to build it from source if you're going to pin the versionI use Arch (btw). And I'm pretty sure something would break eventually even on other distros. Building it from source along with Qt and other deps and dumping it all in /opt/kde6-x11/ or some shit would be infinitely safer.
>>106749699Having a OS that works against you half of the time can't be solved with more hardware.A 5090 won't make advertising go away, or make Win11 stop copying the worst parts of OSX and android.Hell, not even a 5090 SLI will do that. Also it won't make wayland good either.
>>106749641>Why are they forcing wayland?Wrong question, *why are they moving to wayland.Simple, Xorg is in maintenance mode and the linux desktop collective has decided that Xorg is unmaintable and X was designed for a different purpose then what they need. So wayland was invented as a set of protocols you can build your own compositor with and Kde just made kwin able to support those.
>>106749877>Xorg is in maintenance modewhy lie, xlibre exists now and is getting updated
>>106749699>LTNPCsLTSC just work in comparison, why do you need all that junk windows ships with if you don't care about gaming? Windows is pretty much a mature operating system and changes are minor.
>>106749888you cant do that its not secure sir please stick to wayland which is supported by redhat and fedora
>>106749888>why lie, xlibre exists now and is getting updatedThat's not xlibre and xlibre came out way after they made the decision.Let's be real, xlibre is a project by a schizoid that thinks he can completely revive a project that was never meant for the use case it's been used in the Linux desktop and try reuse it for that. X was made for remoting, your "PC" mainframe would be at another building or another room, that also explains it's core designs that had to be hacked with extension which still created other issues. Also since it's American hours on 4chan I assume you are coming with it form retard politics ideals. If that's the case don't bother answering.
>>106749958>That's not xlibre*xorg
luddite cope thread
>>106750029>everything newer is automatically better
X11 didn't let me share audio on discord.Just saying.
>>106750129>X11 didn't let me share audio on discord.>Just saying.Yeah but that's because you are running xwayland anon, it prevents audio capture because it's using pipewire.
>>106750129womm
>>106749877>RedHat has decidedFTFYI'll stay on XLibre sorry
>>106749641It was the same playbook they used with systemd. Its Redhat/IBM pushing to have full control of the ecossystem. And probably paying FOSS projects under the table to force it too.
>>106749641X11 developers moved to Wayland
>>106749641Nigger the more interesting question is why updatectl. Systemd doing package management now.
>>106751079That would unironically be good
