Why doesn't linux just make installing apps easy like dragging and dropping them into the apps folder?
>>106751003because you need to look as if you know more than the rest.
Kill yourself nigger
>>106751003>dragging and dropping them into the apps folder>the apps folderI suspect you know the answer, but in case you really don't understand:Most people don't know what an "apps folder" is.The majority of humans on earth are more familiar with "app store" interfaces than anything else (because smartphones). Many distros do have a dedicated "store" application now. If Linux distros want to be more intuitive for normies, they should make those store experiences better, not waste time on making an "apps folder" that most people wouldn't understand.

>>106751003>Why doesn't linux just make installing apps easy like dragging and dropping them into the apps folder? You don't even do that on Windows so what is your point?
>>106751003It's called a flatpak nigga
>>106751003Flatpaks and appimages are as easy as it gets. Don't really know what else you want.
>>106751512>Most people don't know what an "apps folder" is.Mac OS has an /Applications folder. Next/Apple was sensible to hide the "unixness" of their system to make things human-readable.
>>106751003We actually do have technology for this. It's called AppImage and desktop environments are supposed to integrate it.But Linux devs are autistic and would rather do things the hard way.
Can't you just double click the flatpak and it will install? How is dragging an icon any better?
>>106751003Because the linux community is full of insufferable elitist gatekeeping faggots in denial that a proper GUI actually aligns with human nature.
>>106752553Installing apps is easy, just ask ai.
