>>106756545>Can i use Linux as a desktop without having a mental illness?yeah, i'm using cachyos and it's working out for me so far with my only time on console being pacman -Syu once a week after checking that no manual intervention is required. i use my computer to browse the web and do paperwork for my business. onlyoffice and libreoffice are okay, neither can do the same exact formatting as msword but it wasn't worth trying to stick with windows when it's overt spyware at this point in time. i don't play vidya so i can't comment on that. so far everything works and i have been on it for 8 days at this point. i'm not a total linux noob though since I distrohopped in the early 2010s and settled with arch from about 2012-2017 then went back to windows for work related stuff. got completely fed up with windows 10 a week and half ago and now im here.

Most things work out of the box, nVidia drivers work great, never had problems with wifi or sound. The only thing that ever needed fiddling was some old fingerprint reader. Even things that are a royal pain in the ass on Windows work great on Mint, like wifi printers. Steam/Proton works just fine for games and I don't play any Riot or Bungie games that refuse to work on Linux, so nothing lost here.I don't miss Windows a single bit.
