You have libreoffice for local use, and word + excel have online versions if you actually HAVE to use them. If for some demented reason you NEED to use word on your local machine just run a VM? Sounds utterly deranged though.
A suprising amount of modding projects and random github things run on Linux native now too. Steam proton is so good that Linux gaming is more hassle free than windows gaming since I don't need to update my own graphics drivers, the update manager does it for me.

Yes, linux tranny. Piracy is, was and will always be more suitable than troonix alternatives. I know that your hormone-infested brain makes it very hard to think logically, but that's the way to go for normal people who did not mutilated themself into crude abomination of what they once were. with normal windows software it just werks but it cost money and nags you, with troonix software its free but it does not work. Piracy allows you to have working software, that can be obtained for free and run indefinitely offline on your local machine with no hidden terms, which is the best possible workflow one can achieve.

If the only reason you need it is to play games with kernel level anticheat, it kinda makes sense. You already expect to fully submit all of your data to the overlords, so you couldn't care less about security. And you don't use it for anything else because you kinda look at it as a system compromised by design. And ofc in terms of look and feel Aero is sovl.

We 7chads do not want to dick around wine and use our computers as a glorified bootloader to it (because linux software doesn't work), we do not want to type 6 gorrilion commands just to fix our operating systems when the next updoots breaks it, and we absolutely do not want to deal with linux community that consists of narcissistic idiots, pedophiles, card-carrying atheists, trannies and other insufferable people who will try to boss us around.
>>
>>106760736
Your PC doesn't turn into botnet after some vulnerability is discovered and fixed. That being said, I'm playing very unsafe game with updates myself because of how my distro (Bazzite) breaks everything I use in every update since late August...
>>
>muh windows piracy
if you can pirate it on windows, you can pirate it on linux, too
>>
>>106760797
piracy on troonix is inferior. You have no guarantee that cracked copy of windows program will work under wine, and cracked software that works natively under troonix is almost non-existent. If I am about to use troonix distro as a glorified bootloader to wine and web browser, I might as well go back to 7 and make all linux trannies hang themself.

because they think that downloading all their trannyware from one, centralized repo is somehow better idea. Regardless, AVs are kinda irrelevant nowadays and defender is good enough for most people, but honestly if you are reasonable person, you should be good to go even without one. Early win 7 was somewhat worse than late win7 (like destroying audio files and more intrusive crap) but in the end most people simply resigned to it, the boiling frog mindset is the cause of the eshintification since ever, at least XP was nice (even if at the end I simply removed most crap with dxdiag and re-themed to a win98 like theme).

I began to use Ubuntu as only system since 10.04 LTS, that was good and polished but then Canonical released their "Ubuntu Win8". A problem are people complaining of "stagnation" (see critics of Cinnamon and MATE) and forcing bad changes for the sake of change, of course they aren't optional.

Or just use Steamunlocked/Gogunlocked and get games for free, without being attached to shitty marketplace client, DRM and other garbage.

Or just use Gog if you care about paying, lol.

Madobe Nanami is still the best OS-tan.
After Microsoft killed her, I finally bit the bullet and installed Gentoo on another drive.
I still have the SSD with her Windows 7 installation preserved, I will never delete her.
>>
>>106758494
I'd rather run 7 than 11, it's that simple
>>
>>106761429
Wtf is bazzite? Use a well known, well supported and properly maintained distro like Linux Mint or even Ubuntu, not some meme crap nobody uses and doesn't get tested

You need a hard drive check from the feds weeb

Kek anti linux people will make every excuse in the book to stay on proprietary software, its like a drug, meanwhile we're at a point in history where Linux is easier to set up, and quicker than wi does becsuse there isn't any Microsoft account nonsense, Linux is functional when its not even fucking installed lmao, just running off usb.
>>
>>106767336
Bazzite is a linux distribution made by john bringus of bringus studios that brings steamOS levels of functionality to hardware unsupported by valve's official implementation. Lets you run steam on hardware you previously couldn't (and sometimes, shouldn't).

>what's the 1-10% that it's missing?
the autocomplete suggestion box, that's basically a titlebar-less window in windows, has a title-bar in linux and blocks what you're writing (but a setting can change that, but then it doesn't use native window decorations)
and SMB connections are mounted in a path that contains a colon ':' with gvfs (and you cannot change that; thanks, bussman...), which npp in wine will open, but not save to

the autocomplete is semi annoying: i type without looking, which would mean i could look at the screen... anyhow, yeah, it's annoying when you're drowsy and not too type-accurate, otherwise it doesn't really bother me much
but you can change this by disabling (linux native) window decs (then it gets the classic windows look)
also the npp i use is ancient

Otherwise, learning how to use the FreeDesktop and/with Cinnamon is something you may need to invest time in, if you don't want Wine to automatically "install Start Menu shortcuts" and set file-type associations that the Windows installer will trigger.

RGay lights is a hardware program i think right? and cpu fan controllers, and voltage limiters.

You can work around this by symlinking (or creating a copy), but the... "facepalmy WTF-component" of such issuse is something you'd have to get used to coming from proprietary Windows to the FOSS Linuxsphere.

In contrast, using integrating IrfanView with Wine is rather difficult/cumbersome, that I've given up on IV as the main image viewer (but keep it around).
I use the built-in image view and GIMP (which starts almost instantly in Linux vs. loading half a minute in Windows).

Honestly it's better to just use a Win7 skin with 10/11 at this point, though I still can't find a way to add the Aero explorer windows though.

I'm surprised, they aren't 'conscious' about it.
Like, that it's news to them.
Like, I can't believe it.
You're malicious, no one can be that dumb.

(Leave it to the dumb to be insulted of accused of malice, because the alternative is... ah, kek, lol.)

Of course, there was Covid, so... yeah, shouldn't be surprised.

By the way, if you took the vax, you may have increased your chances for certain cancers by 25-75%.
No clue if this is a one-time thing, or if you suckers have to deal with an elevated risk of cancer for the rest of your lives.

Ah... I'm saying, it's surprising they're (geniunely) insulted by the accusations, and not that they're reacting with a "well played" as it is among honorable gentlemen.

Meaning they are dumb sheep.
You too, probably.
It's okay.
We'll get through this.

Cheers!

I hate pretty much everybody.
I'm an involuntary misanthrope, there's really nothing much I can do about it.
(If you can: Don't take it personally.)

You guys tried to give me fucking cancer.
Ffs, man!
I'm still in my thirties.
You want me to live another potential fifty years with the risk of unknown side-effects, because of a flu-like disease, that I have a personal chance of 99.9999% of surviving, an almost equal chance of getting, and you can lock me up for two weeks, ffs, okay and then I'm good to go, but think about that for a second.

Yeah, yeah, now that it's all settled down, you faggots all see how fucking INSANE that actually is, if you're not already 75 or something.
Some of you are like
>the elites wouldn't poison their sheep, they need them
You're the IDIOT for putting THAT MUCH FAITH in SCIENCE.
It's as dirty as every other sector.
Papers get written, not for science, but for funding, fame and personal gain.
Rarely does actual science get done.

Anyhow, I lost a lot, so did a bunch of others.
At least we don't have to really care about these things.
But how do you think you feel walking through society, when basically at least two-thirds were either completely (in)voluntarily ignorant about that or actually malicious enough to want that for you.
You get trust issues, that's only natural.

Covid showed the sickness was somewhere else, man.
I'm still recovering from *that*.
And I'm not a compulsive pessimist or defeatist; some things can happen once and then only once, meaning I do still hope we can learn some lessons.

But Trump has his Operation Warp Speed, so it'll be swept under the rug bipartisanally, so shut up, and don't talk about it, and we all continue our game of play and pretend.

...but this time, when we play pretend, can we draw the lines somewhere before we all poison each other again? Thanks, yeah.
But alas... *I'm* sorry... :/

you lose the following
- some games, including triple A games with kernel anticheat such as league of legends, valorant, fortnite, cawadooty, etc
- media editors (photoshop, premiere, after effects, literally adobe's entire suite, other industry standard software like avid, DAWs like FL Studio, etc)
- office productivity software, including the entirety of microsoft office

it is also important to remember that nvidia cards will probably have annoying issues at some point

libreoffice is not remotely as good as msoft office
gimp is not remotely as good as photoshop
yes, you can do good things with their linux counterparts, but their linux couterparts are leagues behind in terms of raw features

however, for basically all other software, linux is the gold standard. linux software is so integrated and easy to install compared to windows. everything feels first party somehow. linux is not perfect, but it is a lot better than it used to be

make your decision to use linux or not based on the above information
