Can't you fags just use computers?

"using" a computer is casual shit

Do you not understand that multiple people use this website? For everything that exists there is someone that hates it. Experience it for yourself and then make up your own mind.

If you want something that basically works ootb look for 'noob distros' if you want to have a lot of control over what you install and have a more barebones experience go with arch or gentoo. There are specific use cases for different distros, WMs/DEs, release cycles etc but I'd only worry about them after you used linux for a bit and know what you want from it

Just pick anything that’s big, popular, and easy to install.
Ubuntu, Mint, Fedora, Bazzite are all fine.

this was me around 2010, Debian was outdated and barely usable for desktop. FF today, outdated shit is a blessing in disguise, anything modern is either slop and/or crafted to extract shekels and/or spy on you. Can't even rec ubuntu anymore tbf

debian good
systemd not great, but usable
ext4 and zfs good
don't care about any DE/WM, ssh'ing into machine is enough

I use arch, it just works.
I update once a month.
I don't give a fuck that it uses systemd.
I use bspwm and it does the job for me.

I spend maybe 1h a year maintaining my install.

Either use it or don't. You have to actually do something. I jumped into a random distro over a decade ago and never went back. If you actually know how to use Windows to the max, you'll figure out any Linux just fine.

Look computers are made for niggers now so everything you use was designed under the assumption some baboon lipped gorilla nigger with a 55IQ would be using it. It's just the future we chose and the one we have to live with.
