What went wrong? Why can't Apple innovate anymore?
>>
>>106767343
Since Apple Man died, they just recycle (Liquid Ass), and copy (Android, Lunix). I foresee a return of translucent plastic compootas by 2030.
>>
>>106767356
Hahaha "liquid ass", you are funny guy.
>>
Apple has never innovated.
Their strategy is
>See what's selling
>Make a "better" version
Now, you might say they've slipped on the "better" part. But that's nothing that the marketing department can't fix.
>>
They cancelled the Apple Smart TV (an actual tv not just a box), and the Apple Car.

Unless they do something like invent a brain implant or announce the move to the Linux kernel I won't see much innovation coming out of them again.
>>
Apple Vision is a failure as a product, but as a way to develop AR capabilities and recoup some R&D spend by selling something it's fine. The reason why the UI changes look so shit so iOS and Mac is they're trying to unify it so it's consistent with the translucent AR interfaces.
>>
>>106767366
But when they entered a market, they tried to completely revolutionize it instead of just trying to offer a slightly better product.

The iPhone was very different from most existing smartphones.
The iPod from existing mp3 players.
The iPad from those awful windows tablet PCs.

etc.

Vision Pro is just another VR/AR headset with a few meme features and a high price.
>>
>>106767343
This is just pathetic
>>
>>106767390
The iPhone, iPod, iPad were all just their slightly better version of something someone else was already making.
Literally the same as story as the vision pro, except headsets didn't take off like touchscreen phones did. Now they're doing the same with the glasses. If it catches on, they make a shitload of money. If it doesn't, they'll just start looking for the next thing.

Here is your Vision Pro.
>>
if i ever meet someone wearing these I will tell them to take them off and to stop filming me
>>
>>106767491
you wont do shit jamal
>>
>>106767343
Apple never innovated. They always just slapped a bunch of art deco plastic and aluminum on other people's ideas and then marketed it to midwit trust fund kids.
Is there anything else I can assist you with?
>>
>>106767491
>uh c-can you t-t-take off y-your g-g-g-g-gla-a-a-sses?
No I need them to see
s-s-sorry
>>
>>106767626
>No I need them to see
I've been wondering how these amet glasses will work for people who actually need prescription glasses.
>>
>>106767343
VR is fucking dead.
Apple is chasing the next big thing now instead of trying to MAKE the next big thing.
>>
>>106767668
The vision was AR, like the glasses are
>>
>>106767668
Vision Pro isn't dead.
>>
They look like a bad 1960s film contraption to larp spy
>>
>>106767626
>>106767567
i am extremely antisocial and confrontational you wouldn't get it
>>
>>106767343
If apple manages to be the first to make a functioning and non shit AR glass (with prescription lenses), I might buy an apple product for the first time ever.
Knowing how much stuff one needs to pack in these, I just know it will be a bulky and heavy piece of crap tho...
>>
apple fans are the disney adults of the tech world
>>
>>106767343
Probably dead. Nobody enjoys wearing 3d goggles even though it's the only way so far to get immersive VR. The new jeet fad is glasses with screens. It's annoying as fuck to wear so nobody will buy this crap either.
>>
>>106767343
>What went wrong
>3500$ + tax
>So heavy your head hurts after 30 minutes
>Battery attached separately
I'm even amazed it sold so well for what it is.
>>
>>106767390
>they tried to completely revolutionize it
Lmao no.
You only think that because apple has traditionally been a massively successful marketer, capable of turning unknown and overlooked gadgets into fashionable must haves.
But they were all without exception just very marginally more user friendly versions of already existing products, nothing more.
>>
>>106768551
Steve Job's best skill was recognizing existing tech with the potential to be super popular and throwing the full weight of his company behind it, both to streamline it for mainstream audiences and to market the fuck out of it. Without him I think the only product Apple really managed to do that with was airpods.
Zucc tried the same thing with VR and it didn't work out so well for him.
>>
>>106768349
These won't be AR glasses, just a small HUD. Tech isn't ready for wide FoV AR in a compact format.
>>
Why is it so difficult for them to understand that nobody wants this creeper shit?
>>
>glassholes
>zuckholes
>iholes
bunch of holes in SV
>>
>>106767343
Vision Pro was being pushed by an oldfag who saw that the progression of phoneslop started with it being a bulky richfag thing, the kind of thing that you need to install in a car or carry a briefcase for, so they figured that they needed to make people think that VR is a bulky richfag thing before they would buy the actual consoomer model made for ipoorfags, since VR was never something that some richfag just carried around for business and status.
>>106767390
The Vision Pro is unironically just a 2012 headset with 2022 technology. No compatibility, no comfort.
>>106767668
VR will not die. It is now cheap and small enough that it will always retain that same enthusiast market that spurred on VR development since the 60s.
>>

Golem Stones
>>
>>106768585
I feel like a big part of the issue isn't so much the change of leadership as it is that the smartphone was the last novel physical gadget to hit the market.
Even airpods were well on their way to popularity before apple stepped in, the big issue was making them work well enough to be worth bothering with.
Also apple used to be competitive price wise. Nowadays it relies on pure brand power to sell upper-mid range performance at next gen prototype pricing.
Not to mention the job is just far harder now than when Jobs was alive. The internet has significantly reshaped marketing strategies, and it helped the minnows much more than the big players.
>>
Vision Pro was just an insane concept with a retarded price
>>
>>106767343
this shit will be good only to take pictures/videos of women asses/boobs, that's it
>>
>>106770379
you just know they will make some ai that will detect what you are doing and prevent that
>>
>>106767343
>Vision Pro dead?
no, tech innovation is dead. they're just copying and recycling old shit. unless we move away from LLMs, don't expect anything new for 10+ years.
>>
>>106767343
I’m trying to think of an example of a corporation that was better after the founder(s) died, but I’ve got nothing.
>>
>>106767343
Because vr glasses tech still isn't there.
Did you see the facebook ones? They're hilariously thick and still strain your eyes like crazy
>>
Apple invented smart glasses
>>
>>106770379
The opposite. Once DignifAI will learn to run real time people will start using it to be more comfortable around women
>>
>>106771121
You are an INCEL. “DignifyAI” isn't anti-porn, it's about control over women
>>
>>106767343
>apple glasses with camera and bluetooth audio AI
>yeah that will be 3000$
>>
>>106769007
>it will always retain that same enthusiast market that spurred on VR development since the 60s.
So it's dead. All this progress and the market basically hasn't changed.

Apple has never in their whole existence, innovated or created a single fucking thing. They have copied everything from others illegally or legally (Xerox, Nokia etc.). Everything from first computer mouse to first touch screen smartphone and from first innovations in GUI to touch wheel in iPods were created first by other companies and then Apple stole those by copying them.
