AI is not a “narrow” automation that impacts one type of task in one type of job. By definition AI is “generic” automation. It’s automation of automation itself. It’s not comparable to past innovations where one task is impacted and ends up creating new types of work for the old ones it replaced. The whole point is it would be able to automate work itself.
