High quality portable monitors are few and far between, and the decent ones are expensive. Even then, they're not as good as the screens you can find in laptops. So I want to turn a laptop display panel into a portable monitor.

What are my best options as far as edp controller boards go? I need support for high refresh rates, usb c, and audio in for connection to a separate audio board. And a decent OSD.

And, of course, what are the best panels around 16"? 120hz+ is a must, but on top of that it should have at least one if not two of the features between 240hz, Oled, and 1440p+.
Not sure if it's worth it to go 4k for such a small display, but maybe I should.
