Why is Python so much faster than PowerShell?

It's not? Whenever I find some Python script that is really just behaving like a batch/shell script I rewrite it in PowerShell and it runs significantly faster.

Powershell has killed entire product lines that tried to adapt their scripting tech to use it.

“Python Class” is our term for an ultra slow worker process thread, and powershell is on a completely different and slower plateau.
This is *without* considering the absolutely insane powershell start-up costs that are worse than even Java leaving execve/CreateProcess usage out of the question.
