Whiney bitch geminifag rapporting in. No luck on a consistent solution to gemini's slop, but a couple inconsistent solutions. The most interesting and obvious in hindsight is that if you dump a chunk of continuation into the prefill, it's actually 30% inclined to keep the style correctly (when not the first message in chat), and 80% inclined to strongly deviate from its usual voice. Raising the temperature helps but tanks the IQ. Seems to be extendible indefinitely if you're willing to keep rerolling for non-slopped continuations. The other is that giving it a table comparing its style to your target style, and using some magic keywords, makes it like 40% inclined to not be slop. Sadly, these 'not slop' vectors seem to be entangled with grug-tier sentence construction, as attempts to get the prose to flow better or use more complex sentences reliably raises the slop probability. That's a known attractor. Nothing to do with presets. Solutions I've found are to become a storychad or state upfront how she should react in situations like this in her character definition or in the RP/story overview. Gemini send to benefit a lot from common-sense or random definitions like this. The robot/aggressive thing is an attractor because it's what Gemini thinks is the most likely outcome (for whatever fool reason) for a wide range of situations. The justifications it comes up with can be weird. I haven't tested it yet, but it might also be fixed by using an author persona. Either an unrelated one that has a compatible worldview with you, or have the character herself be the author and thinking agent. It's definitely a major flaw in the model but only really been a thorn (i.e., stubborn) in one of my RPs so I'm not sure what you guys are doing to be hit by it so bad.
