Why was "AMD-only" RAM a thing and what made it that way?
>>
wasn't it something something performance of Zen architecture, Infinity Fabric having non-insignificant performance gains from higher quality, stricter-timed mem

Board certification, slightly different sub timing due to IMC nuances. Go read a forum post about it.

Because the standard Intel forced everyone to use had proprietary benefits that worked fine on Intel, but slowed it down for competing chips like AMD, so AMD had to circumvent Intel's sabotage.

Different timings. I bought intel ram recently, a 2666 kit. While it did work at jedec on AMD and overclocked to 3600 with zero effort, it would not boot with the 2666 XMP profile enabled.
On an intel system XMP was enabled automatically and it worked fine.

....by pushing standards that worked fine on AMD but didn't at all on competing chips?

You can't pull first offender BS for the worst offender, m8.

Oh no, AMD pulled an Intel move against Intel

Frankly after the cripple AMD function I give AMD full permission for the gloves to come off

And no, they're not fucking anybody over but (You). You'll change sockets and RAM for the CPU, not the other way around.

AMD is commendable for keeping Socket 4 alive for so long, but no fuck you if you thing this is alright to pull.

Buddy I'm still on AM4 with a 5700G
>>
>>106775951
That's what I said- commendable, but that doesn't give you license to pull other anti customer crap.
>>
>>106775963
It's perfectly alright. You fight fire with fire.
>>
>>106775972
Maybe you do, but you don't fight an arsonist by torching his victim twice as hard.
They want it, Lease-a-Sue can light Butane Lips on fire. Not me. Give me my memory that works everywhere just fucking sublime, please.
