A security clearance is unironically the only way to make it these days. Thanks to it there's a good chance I'll be starting this contract role soon but it still took around a year of applying and stacking a couple certs since entry level stuff is harder to get into if you're new to the field. The funny part is that for my offer I didn't even have to do a phone screen. I just had to answer a couple questions from a recruiter over email and then a 30 min behavioral interview . Don't want to dox myself but this is a big name company too. I did have a few internships under my belt and a good GPA but I definitely am lucky.
Also, one thing I noticed is that no one is asking leetcode questions. It's mainly behavioral and STAR stuff (if it's not FAANG, startups, or quant).

frontend seems to be bleak. it's getting increasingly complex for something that just renders UI and a lot of these jobs are being replaced by fullstack roles where they expect you to do frontend, backend, and devops. I wish I could work at FAGMAN developing internal tooling instead.

what are your honest opinions on JS/TS? It's the only language I've really used besides very minimal amount of python and C. A lot of people hate it but I never understood why. It's mostly some type coercion quirk that is brought up but I have never seen any actual criticism.
