One thing I've never seen anyone talk about / consider: there's a LOT of Booru artists, especially ones who have been around for a long time and may no longer be active, who simply have very little (or literally no) published work that was ever even 1 megapixel in resolution to begin with. How would you guys generally expect a model to handle that? Personally I think the best approach is probably just mixed-resolution bucketing that trains everything directly at the closest fit to the original res as is possible, even if it's lower than the baseline model resolution target of 1 MP or whatever. That does mean though that people can't really expect every artist to just work equally well at the most typical inference resolutions they use when running the model.

So how much vram do I need to future proof my ai generation? For the next five years? I really don't want to spend 10k on a Ada 6000 pro just to be outclassed next year.
