>People say they've "debloated their Windows" all the time, but have any of them actually checked to see if that was true?

HERES UR """DEBLOATED"" WINBLOWS 10 BRO
SENDING CONNECTIONS TO MICROSOFT EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU OPEN A FILE ON YOUR COMPUTER

https://sizeof.cat/post/windows-telemetry/

>Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 (what nu-/g/ shills): 20 connections
>Windows Server 2019 (what 2022-nu/g/ shilled): 32 connections
>Windows 7 Professional: 1 connection

>usecase for respecting privacy?
Enjoy sending telemetry to Microsoft only for your OS to get worse every time a new release comes out.
10 users are in the same bus as 7 users. Might as well downgrade to 7 once everything magically stops working on 10 despite working in the same environment prior, amirite?
10 does not magically become a privacy respecting, optimized OS after support is dropped. It is still a frankenstein combination of old native code and XAML bullshit among whatever other "frameworks" Microsoft plops onto their OSes now.

You've been doing the same exact thing with your computer you were doing a decade ago. Why upgrade if you aren't invested in AAA gayming?

Why would you want 1 connection to the Internet for opening a file? Windows 7 is shit too. The last good Windows was Windows 2000. Too bad it's very hard to get modern software to work on it.
>>
>>106780534
I don't care, I use Linux
>>
>>106780566
You should be able to run supermium with kernel patches, use kameleon or run browservice on some cheap sbc.
>>
>>106780626
some of us need working computers though.
>>
>>106780691
I don't care, I use schlingus
>>
>>106780691
Why are you using a gaming OS then?
>>
>>106780676
Yeah I'm aware of those things, but there's a huge amount of stuff that won't work.
>>
I'd use any fucking OS if the applications I want to use continued to support them. That's the real problem at the heart of trying to die hard on deprecated software.
>>
>>106780534
So this is just gonna be a daily thing now, huh.
>>
>use microsoft media player
>microsoft media player has been able to query the internet for things like downloading metadata since it was still Windows Media Player
>post some retarded netlogger
>never discern what the connections are for
>make schizo claim

>You've been doing the same exact thing with your computer you were doing a decade ago
Windows 10 was a decade ago
>>
>>106781920
It literally doesn't matter what it's for, the metadata are the valuable bits
>>
>>106780534
I'd love to install 7, in fact I already figured out that you can actually make older Vega iGPUs work there with a little INF file tweak. Problem is that my laptop doesn't have CSM and without it 7 cannot boot.
>>
>>106785608
newest hardware i've gotten to run windows 7 is 10th gen intel (on a NUC). Even the iGPU works through a hacked driver. Only thing that doesn't work is the built-in ethernet and wifi. I just got a usb wifi adapter, the kind with 2 big antennas.
>>
>>106780534
kek. macOS does the same?
>>
>>106785625
So I need to integrate the driver beforehand so I could use 7 without CSM then? Otherwise it wouldn't even install.
Also Wi-Fi isn't going to be a problem, as I have a spare Realtek 8822CE card which just works.
>>
>>106781333
kek this. also Linux is a gaming OS now. in some situations you get higher FPS on Linux, on the Windows version of the game lmao.
>>
>>106785638
You can use Simplix to integrate usb3 and nvme drivers for your keyboard and system disk. It doesn't do much against lack of CSM though. I think the 10th gen NUC has CSM somewhere in the firmware settings.
But the simplix developer is a Ukrainetard and it stops working if it thinks you're Russian. If you're in the West it's probably fine.
>>
>>106785794
Also Simplix is just a convenient way to do it, you could integrate drivers manually using DISM, but it requires using command prompt.
You can also integrate Nvidia/AMD drivers somehow and delete the VGA driver to get around not having a CSM VGA emulation, but that's getting way out of my depth and I've never done it. I've just heard that other people have done it.

>downloads ratings for show
>NOOOO REEEEEE NOT THE RATINGS AAAHAAHHHHHHH
Who the fuck uses Movies & TV?
>>
>>106780676
Yeah, or refuse to open up your toaster to this chink retard's botnet.
>>
>>106785643
This is literally never true.
>>
>>106785974
It is actually - but at a massive price.
The real reason (a very few) Windows programs run faster on Linux is that a lot Wine (and therefore by extension Proton) calls are just unimplemented no-ops: of course it's going to run faster when (say) half the renderer doesn't actually do anything.
When you sit down and think about it, it also explains the frequent graphical/sound/input glitches and constant crashes that gaming on Linux is notorious for: if the call didn't actually do anything, but the program (of course) assumes it did, hilarity will ensue.
Once you actually control for programs such as this, and limit yourself to the less than 40% programs that function identically on Wine/Proton as they do on Windows, you'll find such programs have a 10-20% performance HIT.
>>
>>106786489
Yeah, it's still not true. Ever. Benchmarks always show otherwise.
>>
>>106781333
>>106785643
Windows actually works, is compatible with working software and is not managed by obsessed trannies. Even something as old as XP provides better value than shitnux.
>>106781384
Its still better than troonix though
>>106785953
>chink botnet
freetard propaganda, hang yourself
