Why doesn’t macOS have a music player comparable to Foobar? I know Foobar technically exists for Mac, but it’s completely stripped down—you barely get any of the customization options that are available on Windows. I’ve tried at least half a dozen alternatives for Mac, even some paid ones, and nothing comes close.

>>106789511the way macOS achieves UI scaling is rendering the UI to some retard high >=8k resolution and then just downscaling the image.it doesn't scale the UI by font DPI like the more modern UI toolkits on linux and windows.so it introduces scaling artifacts (blur). it's not noticeable on a 4k 16" laptop monitor or if it happens to match exact multiple or the render resolution, but the 1440p 2k monitor picture will look very blurry if you put it next to same resolution GUI/fonts on loonix or windows on the same monitor.also the GUI, kb input lantency and disk access are noticeably more sluggish to what you may experience on linux on approx the same hardware, but it's much better than the windows 11 attrocity...also you can't turn off various UI animations that drop frames even on the 120hz laptop monitor.6/10 better than winjeet

If you use Linux, what media player would you use? Now check home brew? Maybe you already did that. Personally I use Foobar and I can accept the standard install. It's all good.
