Should I shamefully switch back to linux mint?
(Yes) (No)
choose
also wayland is fucking shit
>>
there’s no shame in choosing mint (again)
just go back to it
t. debian enjoyer
>>
go for it xister. you just figured out to go back to old reliable
>>
Mint is the best distro. It's natural to be curious about distros that "aren't beginner friendly"
most people will find that they suck compared to Mint becuase Mint just works
welcome back

Just go for what fit your needs, if you don't need HDR there really isn't much reason to use Wayland atm
>>
What are you using at the moment?
>>
>>106783408
Yes, switch back to mint, there's no reason not to
>wayland is fucking shit
Currently running wayland on debian 13 with kde plasma and it's the best linux experience I've ever had. So that's just not true.

pfbp. Mint is a decent OS.
I haven't used it in like 15+y and use debian everywhere I can. I've built up a list of packages to install and a home directory full of dotfiles to migrate over to a fresh install.

Where's the shame in using Mint? I've never used it myself (I've used Ubuntu though) but I've never heard anyone say anything bad about it

>no wayland support
>forced cinnamon because troon-in-chief saw it in their "vision"
>just works
>>
can you install mint with f2fs?

Who could have known that it was related

Not for LMDE, you have to manually replace nvk with proprietary driver

Cool but everyone does now.

Use whatever works best for your needs. There's no point using a distro with nerd credentials if it doesn't do what you want it to do.
Wayland works great for me (Fedora 42 KDE) but again, if it doesn't work for you, throw it out of the window and use X.

Look, folks, I have to tell you — Linux Mint, it’s tremendous. Everybody’s talking about it. I know computers, I know technology, better than anyone, believe me. And Wayland? Total disaster, The thing hasn't worked in 20 years just like old sleepy Joe and crooked Hillary. People come up to me saying — ‘Mr Trump, Wayland crashed again!’ And I say, ‘Of course it did, because they didn’t stick with Mint and X11’ So yes, you should switch back. You’ll be winning so much believe me, you’ll get tired of how smooth that XFCE desktop runs!
