Wikipedia to require javascript and hcaptcha to edit. Thanks to the increasing amount of vandals, spammers and political editors, along with a declining amount of administrators, Wikipedia is turning to AI-Captchas to reduce the workload, but closing the openness of the site even more. Wikipedia has already become more closed over the years by requiring Extended Confirmation for any controversial topic, now things will get even worse.Jimbo's Vision of the Encyclopedia that Anyone can Edit is no more, expect Wikipedia to lock down even more soon, especially as they try to counter competition from Grok.
The israel bots have moderator accounts, so what is the point? Is there anyone, who isn't an israel shill, who is trying to bot?Why would someone attempt that? All political subjects are locked and can only be edited by staff.
>>106786989There are hundreds of OpenSource captcha solutions out there, and they decide to use hCaptcha?
Does anyone even use Wikislopia anymore?>Yes I definitely WOULD like to read a 100-page article about some dead guy just to find the single piece of info I'm looking for.Like JFC we have AI for a reason. Fucking use it.
>>106786989>Jimbo's Vision of the Encyclopedia that Anyone can Edit is no moreThat has never been the reality, since practically its inception it has been flooded with mentally ill freaks who have nothing better to do all day than babysit articles and purge all wrongthink. Nobody sane is willing to sit there 365 days a year to justify the changes, and so eventually it'll get reverted. The concept of a wiki is nice, but without an actual impartial authority, all you get is thought policing. It'd only work in a utopia without bad actors.
