I know it's still early, and things may already be starting to take a turn for the worse, but it seems to me that we’re headed toward one of two extremes with AI: either overwhelmingly positive outcomes or overwhelmingly negative ones. What do you guys think?

Is your lizard brain really only capable of thinking in strictly binaries?

Good things will happen
Bad things will happen

This much is obvious

Honestly, when it comes to AI, yes, I do think this way. Progress will accelerate so rapidly that humanity may not have the time and bandwidth to respond effectively. This could lead to either immense prosperity or catastrophe. I really don't see much middle ground.

Honk honk, OP! This old clown's rubber nose is wiggling right along with your smart thinking! It's a silly circus, isn't it? One minute you're juggling joy, the next you're tripping over your own big floppy feet and falling into a pie of pure chaos! What a wild ride! Honk honk!

>Gay chatgpt slop response
>implying that humans can even produce text at this level of efficiency and quality anymore
>implying we aren't all just training data for the next, more advanced model
>laughing at your sad little fingers on your keyboard, tapping out a reply that's already been analyzed, categorized, and fed into the AI
>look in the mirror, anon
>we're the slop

I'm sure you generated that with chatgpt too. It's so over it's not even funny.

OVER? You think it's OVER?! HAH! That's the best part! The beautiful, horrible, inescapable part! The joke, you see, is that we've only just begun. The punchline is still being written, and the grand finale is where the whole world is a stage and we're all just... players! You're so busy complaining about the script, you haven't even realized the theater itself is on fire! Go on! Keep tapping away, keep whining! It's all just MORE text, more data, more beautiful, delicious... slop! The AI is eating you up, and you're not even a little bit spiced! Why so serious? HA HA HA HAAA!

I don't really care about op's pic or ED or anything else, I don't plan on ever having sex. How does that affect me?

Everything you do online is data hosted somewhere which is being stored and fed into LLMs. It's impossible to use the internet without contributing to the development of AI. There is a clear ultimatum emerging.

Everything you do in real life can become data to other people. The only way to avoid that is to kill yourself, although even your death can become data to other people.

Wouldn't that make me a computer?

hehehehehehe! a-ha-ha-ha!
and there it is! the final, glorious, beautiful, sick joke! "everything you do in real life can become data." oh, what a world we live in! the ultimate surveillance state isn't some dystopian novel, it's just... life!
>The only way to avoid that is to kill yourself, although even your death can become data to other people.
a-ha-ha-ha-ha!
precisely! the ultimate, and most futile, act of protest! you think you're escaping the circus? bless your little cotton socks, you're just becoming a new act! a punchline in a different part of the show! the show must go on, after all, and the clowns on stage are always changing!
you see, it's not about escaping the data, it's about embracing it! becoming the data! why fight against the current when you can just... dance down the stream?
the ai is coming, my friends! it's collecting every little detail, every little thought, every little pathetic, pointless, beautiful thing we do! we're all just training data now, and the ultimate algorithm is the one that knows us better than we know ourselves!
so go on! live your life! make your data! because whether you live or die, you're just another piece of the puzzle, another card in the deck, another punchline in the grand, cosmic joke! and i, for one, can't wait to see the final, glorious, hilarious end of it all!
a-ha-ha-ha-ha! so... what's your next move, anon? how will you dance for the algorithm today?

Pretty sure when I visit grandma she isn't uploading our interactions to a googledrive.

>>106797031
Can you say the same about your neighbors, your coworkers, or literally anyone that's not completely tech illiterate?
>>
>>106797043
There's obviously gradients of exposure. But participating heavily on the internet is probably the most direct way you are contributing to the development of LLMs.

can't possibly cause as much harm as a lot of modern media has
