>>106802336Could also be an AMD driver issue too.
>>106802344threads and CUs are sitting idle in vulkan. it cant be driver issue because vulkan is all commands handled by the dev.
>>106802353No no. There is still a translation layer in the driver. The GPU runs machine code, not Vulkan.

>>106802416Try using the audio port in the back of your motherboard. Maybe turning on spread spectrum in your bios could help if you disabled it.
>>106802428The back port is fine, still want the case port to work though
>asking reddit any pc problem>make sure your case has good air flow>look at the qvl on your motherboards >try RMA itWhy are they so useless?
>>106802440The cable for audio probably has poor shielding. It might help if you route it along the back of your case if it is just in the open area where the motherboard and electronics are. It could also just be your motherboard itself. I've always had a usb dac/amp so i've never had to deal with problems like you are describing.

>>106802357>There is still a translation layer in the driver. The GPU runs machine code, not Vulkan.?????????????????????????????????there's no translation layer on windows. its using proprietary windows compiler which is based on llvm (every gpu understands this).same case on windows and linux either way using different drivers. CPU threads and GPU CUs are sitting idle...because vulkan is all commands handled by the dev. dev should be keeping gpu and cpu always busy (to a certain point). I'm not talking about 100% usage but better than 60% usage.

Hey so, I have a wifi 6 OpenWRT router and it works just fine but my home is a little too big for it, so I was either thinking of getting a wifi extender or another router so I can increase my 5 ghz range downstairs, I can connect it either via an Ethernet cable or just wifi, and I'm looking to spend about $50, maximum $100 on this purchase. Do you guys have any recommendations?

Give it to me straight, is the 9800x3d really that much of a boost compared to the 7800x3d? I can't decide if it's worth it. Whatever I get I'm going to be stuck with for at least 5 years. Will the 78 last that long?
for me? its the 5700x3d
>>106802870Depends how much extra do you have to pay for 9800X3D.7800X3D tray/OEM are very cheap right now so paying 50% extra to get 5-15% more performance is questionable.
>>106802915Difference is about a hundred dollars.
>>106802926So 33% more money for 5-15% more performance.Whatever it is worth it, it's up to you.But can you put the money into other parts to make a bigger difference? Also remember to avoid AsRock motherboards with 9800X3D.

>>106803059More RAM, longer training.Higher the RAM overclock, longer training.Older the UEFI version, longer training. It can take up to 5 minutes from my experience.
>>106802419If you can't afford a 16gb 5060 ti/9060 XT, just get an arc b580 (now that they are finally available). You'll get better performance and 1080p overhead than the 8 gb cards from either team red or green. There is exactly one reason I can see to get a 5060 or 5050 8 gb. You're getting the SFF one from zotac and your plan is to put that GPU into a case the size of a calculator. If that's your plan, get the 8 gb card. If not, just get the arc or save up for either the 5060 ti 16gb or the 9060 XT 16 gb.
>>106802569that will be a hard roam. You need a controller based solution and I'm not aware of one for schizos right now.
What's the difference between w11 normal and pro? Does pro offer anything worth getting?
>>1068030595 seconds on DDR45 minutes on DDR5which means, logically, it will take 5 hours on DDR6
>>106803059no more than 2-3 minutes with 32gb of ram. if its longer than that reboot.
>>106803047No. ASRock is having problems where they are burning 9000 series AMD CPUs. If you already have the 9600x, get an Asus or an MSI or something. If you're buying both, you could get the ASRock and a 7600x (instead of the 9600x) and you'll get basically the same performance with almost none of the failure risk.
>>106803059if your mobo has a postcode screen or those qled functions it acts a progress meter. refer to your manual.
>>106803094> What's the difference between w11 normal and pro? They offer you slightly more customization options while they steal all of your data to train their AI models. If you're really lucky they might use a bit more lube before the repeatedly rape you.

I want a black MSI motherboard. Tomahawk seems like the best premium version but there are so many of them. The Gaming version is much cheaper but I'm not sure about the difference in quality. How do I decide which one to go with? I'm going to be getting a 9800x3d and a 5070ti with 2 m.2 ssd's. Nothing much more fancy than that no streaming or AI stuff.
I had a motherboard, 13700K, PSU, and ram laying around. The i7 is toast, so I used the rest of the parts for a mid-range build. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4M3mwYCinebench R23 scored 22,500. I saw a couple flags that current limits were exceeded, so I raised the short and long term power from 181w to 200w. Score jumped to 24,700.
>>106803350nice computer looks ready for gaming
>>106803358Thanks. Pretty satisfied with it. I'm probably gonna sell it. It's rock solid at 1440p and will do 4K if you feel like turning FSR on.
I think 32gb ram will be enough for me. But if it isn't I'm kind of screwed since I can't just add more since more than 2 sticks is bad. So maybe I should just pay double and get the 64gb for future proofing?
