What became of 2010s Futurism?
>>106803471niggersI wish I was joking btw.
>>106803471have a nice mealt
>>106803471I actually remember my dad using the real time camera translation thing like 11 years agothen it instantly got memoryholed like wtf
>>106803514Because united we’re strong
>>106803471After ~2012ish, tech transitioned from being "who can bring the newest and coolest shit to market" to "who can drum up the biggest hype train but still manage to crank out a barely working PoC so they dont go to prison". Went from consumer oriented, results-oriented engineering to basically snake oil sales. They also literally transitioned, but that's a different story.I think we ran out of actually new + cool + physically possible things to do about 20 years ago. From here on out, it's MOAR COREZ and MOAR COMPUTE and MORE HYPE until the entire ecosystem shits itself, then rinse and repeat.
>>106803471What's the green jelly stuff on the wall ????
>>106803599the sex wall
>>106803471Crypto, Metaverse, AI.
>>106803599A slime fridge
nothing beats late 90s Y2K futurism. it was the nicest but also the most naive and (deep down) the most evil
>>106803538XaaS was a mistake
>>106803471>gel fridgememeshit>hologramsmemeshit>smart glassnever heard of it but seems cool>real time translationsis in use>the ads thingno idea
we wanted flying cars and smart glasseswe got Idiocracy + Wall-E + Camp Of The Saints + Weimar RepublicI hate this timeline
>>106803900I am a fucking idiot lmao. Don’t know how I forgot Google Glass. Thank you for the reminder, anon
>>106803937Zucc's cuck glasses are here already, so that one exists if you're willing to hand over all your data to zuccy.
>>106803471We got a lot of that stuff, but people are jaded.
still waiting for a hoverboard
>>106803793>>smart glass>never heard of it but seems coolThey're a thing in Japan, they're used for public restrooms. One of the perks of being the last first world Westernized countries I guess.
>>106803471replaced by 2020 india super power sar.
>>106803471Think I saw smart glass around some toilets, never properly trust that shit
>>106804262they're real the real redpill is that nobody wants hoverboards/jetpacks because they're so dangerous.
>>106804442this is nothing like the hoverboar in the movie.
>>106803471Who the fuck thought that storing your food in green slime would be better than just storing it inside a cupboard that is cold on the inside?
>>106805502No. It's better.
>>106803471what is this ai marketing slop
>>106803514> then it instantly got memoryholedDo you never go abroad? People use it all the time
>>106804315Cool until it glitches and everyone looks at you naked
>>106805696hot, I would do a helicopter with my peepee
>>106803471Holographic tech is about at that same level but higher detail, its just questionable what you use it for. Its impractical for most everyday things where you want an entire person visible remotely for some reason, Zoom and msteams are good enough for 99.999% of usesBalls of chewable water was always a dumb idea but it was fun.Live image translation is still a thing, its better than ever. And translation technology is massively improved from where it used to be.PDLC "smart glass" is still a thing, its just not something youd use at home, its mostly found in offices. The camera "insert a subject into the ad" type thing is illegal in a lot of places but where it isnt, it exists as a gimmick. Its expensive compared to any regular ad to also have to run a bunch of cameras and process that image. The fuckable fridge technology stagnated when people couldnt figure out how to clean cum out of it.
>>106804442sad 2bh pham, I want sport hoverbikes, they do exist, but my miund pictured them even cooler, the kind that would bend to the side and not crash
>>106804064>people are jaded. The migrant invasion of Europe (2015), Trump “resistance”, covid and the USA nigger riots the hope and optimism of many. Things seem to be mending though, but the last decade has been rough. Hopefully Mars becomes the next obsession, because it’ll result in another massive tech dump.
>>106803471The same thing that happened to 2000s, 90s, 80s etc - the "future" became the "present" and got slaughtered by harsh, cold reality. Modern tech startups and advertisements are underwhelming and people genuinely are exhausted with technology, so nothing new materialized in that near-future fantasysphere. The closest we got is lol Solarpunk, but it's very niche and swarmed by typical left-leaning morality screechers.
>>106805977*killed the hope
>>106803497They existed in the 2010s.
>>106805719The "holographic" tech is just blue room technique from like XVI century, just instead of mirrors it's using projectors.
>>106805990Nigs got very uppity during the Obama years, and efforts to shoe horn them into civilization really ramped up.
>>106804442niggers on e-scooters is bad enough
