Got moved to a new team and my new boss is absolutely retarded. I am not sure how long I can take this.
I don't understand how anons can't find a job. Fake your resume and use AI to work.If you need to use AI, it means your job doesn't require any skills, and unless you're paraplegic or suffer from racism, they'll hire you.
>>106817827How many time your team change the sizing system
I need to catch a violent cold at work, sneeze on everyone, and call sick for 2 weeksGoing to office sucks
>>106817887I use AI in my job all the time but that doesn't mean it requires no skills. If you don't understand what the fuck you're trying to do you won't get far. What you're saying only applies to jobs where you are being told by someone what to do, versus one where you are telling them what you are going to do and invoicing them. It's just the same as all the old stackoverflow copy paste bullshit I used to hack up when I'm feeling lazy. Another thing is if you can't look at what the AI is spitting out and immediately tell that it's fucking worthless code that will never work, which happens frequently, you're going to be frustrated trying to run it getting nowhere. Sometimes I take one glance at the shit and immediately start insulting it for the piss poor job it did.
Throw me your next trillion dollar project idea.
>>106817887>not paraplegicwith the current state of things this might not be a requirement for long. It's crazy that you can just deploy a VPN into your work network and IT can't do SHIT about it. Was using Wireguard at first but switched to iroh so I don't leave any trace, and it makes it easier to deploy too. And you can keep using it even after you quit as long as you keep your services hidden. Going to use work GPUs to learn ML on my own time.Anyone else doing something like this?
>>106818312>Peer to peer connectivity is established with the help of a relay serverJust block the relay and it's over. Another thing - there will be some traffic to a single ip (your home), block it and it's over.

>>106818250Extremely based.I've been slackin off for years. Once you know that the person in charge of monitoring your job is also slacking off you can do pretty much whatever you want. I have an idea but I would need 100k and it may not be technically possible. Also it’s niche and success depends singularly on one particular company recognizing its value and purchasing it.Bonus: its AI but not a JeetPT wrapper
>>106818407But they're never going to find out. The only thing happening between the relay and the machine in the network is ssh and some web surfing (both over encrypted connections on a random port). And even if they block it, there's multiple relays.
>>106818530based and spot onyou should be able to deliver above average quality at times, but only if you want, or circumstances require itbest way i found to do this is to completely disregard the committed objectives and work on something that actually interests youit needs to only be barely relatable to your workPI planning you should always plan so you get more than 50% of your time for yourselfdoing those unrelated projects shows "ambition", "willingness to go above and beyond your role", etcone on ones with your boss its best to focus on vague stuff like your ambitions to improve how things are done (of course knowing you dont give a rats ass about it) and slamming it shut with "no time, stressful, demotivating situation" or somethingin big companies showing ambition is 100 times better than enacting it because things never change and you cannot make a difference so why even bothershowing your peers and superiors that you want to change things is more than sufficient
>in big companies showing ambition is 100 times better than enacting it because things never change and you cannot make a difference so why even botherThis is probably the best point. No one's gonna bother checking it either.Sometimes I even act angry when we develop something with subpar quality when in reality I couldn't care less and I don't give a fuck wether we spend 1 month or 1 year for a feature as long as I'm getting paid.
>>106818700>in big companies showing ambition is 100 times better than enactingDamn, this makes so much sense. The other day my CTO complimented me on how I was always looking for solutions. Thing is, I just say shit and never implement them. Not even that big of a company, mind you.
>>106818762>>106818839Also if you overperform noticeably compared to your coworkers you will make them look bad, which will draw heat towards you, resulting in people bad mouthing you and going their way to sabotage yoru work.Ideally you find a nice and comfy middleground where you look just a bit better than the average and call it a day.

A lifetime ago I once worked in a factory that made rat traps. The glue kind. We wore masks and could only stay in position 2 hours at a time. The glue would start to get to you. Even so, there were guys (mostly the niggers) who would huffing that shit. They'd take traps home, too. They were all about killing what little brains they had. Every now and then, you'd notice a new face, and realize you hadn't seen a regular for a few days. Yeah. Dead. Usually in an alley with a glue trap smashed to his face. What a sorry way to die. Face in a glue trap, slumped in an alley. Just a public service announcement. Do not get high with negroids unless you know them well. The real dumb ones will inhale anything to get high, even paint thinner.

How do you care about work again? It's one thing when it's just fast food services and retail or something where you're just doing something mindless. It's another when you're developing, designing, and implementing things and you just really don't care about the use case, you don't care about the end results, you don't really care about helping the organization or industry and it just seems hard to initiate or finish off projects at all.

I'm literally applying to jobs during standup
>>106822743If I quit before January I have to return the sign-on bonus and I don't reach the 1 year cliff for stock grants. Giving up both is ~$100k.Essentially:>make it to end of January: have an extra $100k>quit before then: have an extra $0
>>106822770lmao, they got you by the balls.
>>106822770you got 100K just for accepting the fucking job? obviously just work til january then start looking for jobs
>>106822710what is this weird boomer demoralization operation?>no dude please don't apply to fagman they aren't actually hiring it's over dude it's all jeets>dude just ignore the job listings go work for some shitty small company instead bro don't even waste your time applying
Is a CCNA worth it? Trying to get into a cybersecurity or network admin role where I get paid 6 figures to do nothing but look at wireshark every now and then
>>106822775Yes, it's why they call them "Golden Handcuffs">>106822780No, not exactly, but kind of. I got a sign on bonus, and then a stock grant. The stocks vest over four years, with a 1 year cliff. So I get nothing until the end of the first year, then a little bit every three months. If you add the sign on and the 1 year stocks together, it comes out to about $100k.And yes, staying till January is the plan.... but I really really hate this job. The worst part is company B was offering even more money, but I chose company A because I thought it would be more interesting and a better environment. Some of it is just wrong-place-wrong-time (the team lead quit suddenly not long after I started and it's been a shit show since then).
>>106822794Lmao, you're going to be groveling in the street. Anything that isn't FAAGMAN is off your radar, and that is why you niggers are getting laid off and crying on tiktok. Actually, keep applying to google. You got this buddy. They will look at your todo app and give you 300k a year. :)
>>106822800You don't know anything at all. Why the living fuck would you get a CCNA for cybersecurity? The most you've done is probably help desk, so go work that until you fucking learn something.
>>106822829>why would you need to have a certificate showing that you understand how networks work in order to secure networkswow
Keep applying to Google you'll make it :)Don't listen to him
>>106822838If all you have on your resume is a CCNA, and you apply for a job related to firewalls, IDS and IPS, and locking accounts out - they will throw your resume in the trash. Go get a Sec + and then do more research.CCNA is worth it for network admin.
>>106822825This is just a (very obvious) jewish demoralizer.t. FAAGMAN
>>106822847This.99% of applicants give up just as their application is about to be picked up.
>>106822855If you can't see a market outside of FAAGMAN, then you are legitimately jewish or indian.
>>106822800>I get paid 6 figures to do nothing but look at wireshark every now and thenThis is exactly the kind of thing those do-nothing monkeys at Intel were saying, right up until the layoffs.
>working from home on mantaining some garbage laravel + angularJS app for a mega corp>just have to talk to my manager in the 20 mins daily and then barely do anything all day>pay is good surprisingly>me and god knows how this shit works because the asshole that wrote probably forgot alreadyI'm so comfy but feel I may be hindering my career tho, I guess I could do projects for github clout
>>106822854I have a Sec+ already, I'm not retarded. And yeah, I'm working helpdesk right now but not really learning anything since none of our documentation explains how shit works, it just tells me how to fix things but not how or why anything gets fixedAnyway, I don't have a better idea than getting a CCNA from where I'm at right now
>>106822869This. These days when you rake in 100k to do fuck all are over. Infact, the days where you sit around and rake in 80k are over. It's recession time baby, time to keep the actual productive ones and outsource that shitheel work to Indians. After the market comes back in 5 years, maybe you can get that again.
>>106822866>dude please stop trying to get a job at the most prestigious and important institutions in american society, just go work for ball bearing inc and work on their shopify page for $60k a year broif you aren't a jew or a jeet, you're a serious fucking loserpiece of shit quitters like you with your redneck escapism larp are parasites
>>106822893I'll give you this much. Getting into cybersecurity requires more from you than networking. The certs are more expensive, the roles are more competitive, and certain professional certs require on paper experience before even taking them. Also, you need some sort of clearance to get the juicy shit. So hopefully you got that via some other job, or you where prior military. Make that a long term goal, if you're just help desk right now; you just straight up aren't qualified.Networking on the other hand; requires much less experience and credentials than cyber security. A CCNA will get you in the door of a NOC (you probably don't even need the CCNA, I didn't) - which is what I suggest. Get that CCNA, and go for Network Operation Center jobs. They will probably put you on overnight shifts, but it will get your foot in the door for IT. Thank me later.
>>106822923You seriously think factory work is what I or others do? You deserve to be jobless man, you can't even do 30 seconds of research. You don't know 1 (one) recruiting agency outside of what FAAGMAN has shown you. You're butthurt and poor and I can't help you.
>>106822936I never asked for your helpI asked for insight from people already working in fagman
>>106822943You need help, getting on the short bus. LOL The sad thing is, you could help yourself and your career if you weren't so fucking stupid.
>>106822927I actually do have a clearance as well, I'm working as a contractor for the USMC. But yeah, I'd take CISSP and shit if I actually had any cyber experience but I don't. Some of my colleagues are studying for the CYSA but it seems like there aren't many openings looking for that and it seems like it's not worth it to do until my Sec+ expires. So I'm just looking for something else to put on my resume in the meantime. I'll probably do those Hack the Box SOC labs too.
>>106822966honestly man, you just need to take that CYSA. Consider it the A+ of the cyber field and roll with it, it will get you closer to your goal than CCNA. They won't put you in a SOC based on a CCNA.
Yeah gotta get that DFAT, it's the B÷ of the field, much better than an ASIC if you want a UNS
>>106823245This is a jeet that doesn't know how certs work in the US. They are filtered, and this is why they seethe.

>>106823608Engineering is mostly Chinks, Nips, and the odd Russian.>>106823623How much was the pay cut is the better question? I get the reasoning if you are between jobs and just need the pay.
How much extra pay would you require to go from one day in the week in the office to five days a week?
>>106823596>>106823626i went from $320k (total comp) onsite at fagman to $175k (all cash) at a smaller fully remote company. there was no chance anyone was going to be able to match fagman but it's more than i'm bored as hell here. might just be a case of "the grass is always greener" because six figures to do nothing is a dream job to plenty of people, but i think i jumped ship too soon.

>>106823830yeah, and i also went from consistent 60+ hour weeks in the office to 10 hour max weeks from home, plus no more golden handcuffs knowing that if i get PIP'd or laid off before the next vest i'm not going to see that money.
>>106823899Well that makes more sense
>>106823618Yeah, and most people can't reverse a linked list.
>>106823906i'm mostly wondering if i should've teamhopped a bit before leaving, or held out for a job that sounded more interesting and just idled on the big salary as long as i could have. i'd never go back to that workload, and i really like being remote, but the way the market looks i was afraid if i didn't ditch asap i'd be competing with way more people for remote roles.
>>106823803Just find your autistic little programming niche and become and Open Source contributor in that.

>>106823803>fully remotenever understood why this is so important to so many people. i get it if you've got young kids or sick parents or whatever but you probably don't, so why is this a selling point to you? just move within 20-minutes w.r.t. the office accounting for traffic, go in-person, and be a normal functioning member of society. especially if it's faang, you get free breakfast/lunch plus coffee, and you can make friends and shoot the shit. why trade all that for being stuck in your bedroom all day 5 days a week? am i missing something or is this just an autism thing?
>>106824099Travel time, the ability to do chores, second computer for gaming/anime and better speakers/headphones for music. Not having travel time and doing chores while you work alone saves you 12 hours a week.

I don't think my manager is stupid and she's very experienced with the system, but I don't know what to say sometimes>Change is to add a DDL with a few percent values>Have tabulated test scenarios e.g "5% input on X product in Y status, expect 5% calculation in Z field">Manager looks over it>"Anon I'm just kind of confused, I don't think this is accurate, I think you need to scrap it and try again"I know it would be best to dig into the vague feedbackbut I'm so tired of these discussions and I'm looking for another job anyway, so I want to avoid friction and conserve energy
>>106824377Whatever man. If you want me to go in every day you're going to need to pay me more. If you don't pay me more and refuse to let me work from home I will stop maintaining everything I built. Also I want to lol at the idea of me SSHing in and doing what I need to do is not secure enough. You have the dumb bitches in the admin office screeching at me when I try to enable ESU updates for Windows 10 so their machines are still getting patches until they can be replaced. Meanwhile I walk by and see them storing bank account email/passwords and even the fucking password reset questions in text files. I'm probably the only one around who gives a single fuck about security and nobody listens to what I have to say about it. I bet they'll care when it causes them to lose money.
