If that was any true, linux wouln't have chroot, but it does.
Steam keeps it's full compatibility by running this specific ubuntu chroot for all titles, if it runs on the valve linux, it runs on all linux titles.
And then there's things like flatpak that does the same.
However "Run all applications" is false, as windows is fucking huge and implementing every nook and cranny of it is hard, to not mention the programs that should not function but do because windows is lenient with X or Y thing.
I don't see blueMSX for example running any time soon.

Parallels gives seamless windows apps on macs but futzing with the display driver to get the mac compositor to composite on behalf of windows. It's right clever, but it costs a tiny amount of money. Well now linux users still can't get that, but they can at least get a 2025 GUI styled interface to KVM that doesn't support all the fancy features that KVM does with a jankier and less useful way to pretend windows apps are running on your gnome desktop.
>>
>>106825005
Its virtualized but without the virtual machine you saar shill
>>
>>106825087
We have this argument every fucking time. Yes, Wine Is Not an Emulator is what it's called, but that's a total fucking lie. Sure, the idea behind the project is to reimplement all the windows specific DLLs and kernel calls with linux native stuff such that windows programs execute natively just with msvcrt100.dll and not glibc.so but the reality is fucking nothing at all will ever run with such a setup no matter how perfectly you map all the DLLs. End result WINE *is* an emulator, because it has to emulate an actual windows kernel with fake drivers that access fake emulated hardware because all those programs you run have some kind of low level requirement that can't be high level translated to glibc. DXVK isn't just translating D3D to vulkan, it's emulating a GPU running on windows so that all the low level calls can be trapped and translated to higher level vulkan.

Yes! You can even use pen pressure! Just follow this guide (replacing SAI with CSP) and it works great:
https://github.com/TibixDev/sai2-guide?tab=readme-ov-file
If you use linux mint then you want to follow the instructions at the bottom as well, and when you start up Clip it'll open up 3-4 invisible windows. DO NOT exit out of them or else the UI will stop working. Other than that it works flawlessly.

You also don't even need to have two GPUs, you can easily pass through then detach a GPU back to the host.

I however prefer to run everything in guests. I have a cheap single slot one for my Pop!_OS guest and a 4090 I keep passed through to my Win 11 guest.

I keep both of them running all the time. I just use the iGPU for the host which I almost never interact with except to run virsh or edit my configs. That or make backups of the .qcow2 my Linux guest is in.

I pass through an nvme drive to the Win 11 guest.

It helps I have a 7950x3d which is basically a 7800x3d + a 7700X in a single CPU. I pin all of the cores on the first CCD with the x3d cache to the Windows guest, then use 4 cores on my Pop!_OS guest. The other 4 I reserve for io and emu threads + a couple so the host isn't totally starved.

Fucking massive skill issue on your part bro.

No, I have an MSI Gayming Trio and a RX 6400 which is single slot.

I never thermal throttle ever btw. I won the silicon lottery with that Gayming Trio... it's not even the "X" version.

Everyone says it's a shitty card because it has no vapor chamber, but I literally never have temp issues. I have an extremely aggressive fan curve though.

I wouldn't be able to fit even a single slot card without 1 almost touching the other. So I take it the 4090 is either covering up the 6400 or the 6400 is covering up about 2 fans on the 4090 and that's working out fine for you.
