The only problem with this is it's still like you're looking through a para scope. If they can fix that this shit will pop off harder than AI.

not really its fine
i tried a Q3 but i only own a pico 4 and the main problem is lack of games/software not the fov.
>>
>>106828093
Let me put it this way. When it gets so good that it's way better than your computer monitor, games and software will magically appear that take full advantage of VR.
>>
>>106828109
its mainly a problem of market share and not the hardware being good enough. quest 2 was pretty much 'good enough'.

it is way better than a computer monitor (compare half life 2 flat to half life 2 vr for example). as for work there's this

i tried it its kinda fun especially in a constrained space and if you're doing multi monitor work.

Can you actually read text out of the corner of your eye with this or do you still have to crank your neck around
>>
>>106828206
yes but it sucks so the natural impulse is to turn your heat towards it to read
>>
Not at all. It's like you've looked at images of the headset and come to that decision.
>>
VR needs a big ergonomic upgrade in order to get taken seriously. Luv my quest 3 but definitely getting tired of the feeling of strapping this big salad bowl thing to my head just to play H3VR.
>>
>>106828109
the AVP already has the resolution to do what you want. No-one cares.
>>
>>106828224
The Bigscreen Beyond is much lighter. And more expensive. With smaller fov.
No-one cares.
>>
>>106828233
Also wired, also like what, 3x the cost? If Bigscreen went wireless it'd be a fairly big deal. I'd definitely jump ship from the Quest if it were.
>>
>>106828223
No I actually have a business that makes training software. I've wanted to develop in VR forever. But there would be lots of text for my application and it's super annoying to do in VR.
>>
>>106828036
When it is cheaper, faster, easier, more comfortable and has more privacy than desktop PC with Linux, trackball and three 4K 42" OLED/microled screens, then I try it. Usually I can wear something like that max. 2 hours and having full internet connected cameras with full Meta/Facebook spyware tracking is something I will not use ever.
>>
>>106828036
people played games at 320x240 resolution in the 90s and had fun
>>
The only problem with VR is that it's physically exhausting and nauseating and uncomfortable. I like that we're revisiting old ideas, but why is it so difficult to make the experience enjoyable?
>>
>>106828859
Yeah and I have fun with VR games as they are now. Some of my favorites have completely fucked up graphics. But the runway to adoption is normies using them to watch Hollywood slop and browse Facebook. That's what got Chad and Stacy to buy the PS2. When people regularly use VR, they'll naturally make more VR specific content. But right now it's just a niche for guys like me that are entertained by novelty and jank.
>>106829001
That's neither here nor there. The fact people don't buy VR as a cheap way to have a big ass screen to play normal games on is the problem.

People want the kinda tech you see in Matrix, inception, or SoA.
Always have. Always will be.
>>
>>106829343
> cheap big screen
VR will never be this. Screens are already big and cheap and you only need one for everybody to share.
The tech world completely ignored lessons learned 25 years ago. Now they're pivoting to AR, completely abandoning games and movies in favor of phones-on-your-head. At least AR glasses are somewhat comfortable. Women would never put up with VR goggles, but glasses? Maybe.

>People want the kinda tech you see in Matrix
>if you die in Matrix you die in real life

Ive bought immersed, fluid, and vr desktop. The only usable experience is VR desktop by far. The others have yet to be updated from their quest 2 days.

Either you're wearing massive glasses or your headset is old as fuck. It shouldn't be so bad that you're looking through binoculars. More like aviator style sunglasses.
