I have 100 usd to invest in gamedev tools. What should I buy?
i honestly can't think of anything that you might want that amount of money forif you're doing gamedev alone, the most most most important thing is understanding good game design, making something that's fun first and foremostfor that, you don't need quality code, good assets, nice art, nice models, nice bgm, nice sfx, etc
>>106829976I'm tired of free shit, I want quality tools and assets, not crappy free shit.
but you never finish any gameyou will waste that money
>>106830064It's a hobby.hookers and videogames and other hobbies are more expensive.
>>106829919buy lunch for a week, use Godot.
>>106830239free tools produce free internet quality. (GARBAGE).
>>106830247everything's free if you know where to look, anyways.
>>106829919If you have to ask that question you should not be spending any money on anything. Where are you at right now, are you a complete beginner? Have you made any games before? What specifically is your goal?
>>106830279I want to improve my workflow by using non free tools and plugins.
>>106829919Hardware.
>>106829919Claude subscription.Nobody is doing coding manually any more, any games that is made after 2023 is made only with AI.
>>106830317The way you dodged almost all the questions suggests the anwer to them is "no" and no prior workflow you could improve even exists.
>>106830506it's cris. the answers are "yes" he's a beginner, incidentally "yes" he's made tens of games previously (try and figure out how these two are compatible, it confuses me too) and finally "no" he has no goals specific or otherwise.
