CHINA JUST WEAPONIZED THE ENTIRE RARE EARTH SUPPLY CHAIN

get used to reading chinese MOFCOM bulletins because they're writing american industrial policy now.

announced today: any product containing >0.1% chinese rare earth materials needs beijing's approval before re-export to third countries.

doesn't matter if you manufactured it in taiwan, vietnam, or texas.

chinese dysprosium in your magnet? chinese gallium in your chip? beijing gets veto power over the sale.

this is the nuclear option. US spent 3 years trying to deny china access to advanced chipmaking tools. china just responded with chokehold on literally every semiconductor fab, AI data center, defense contractor, and EV manufacturer on earth.

everything runs on chinese rare earths. building alternative supply chains takes 5-10 years minimum.

we don't have 5-10 years. effective december 1st.

the AI boom just hit a hard ceiling and we're still pretending we can offshore our way to prosperity.

time to reindustrialize like our lives depend on it. because they do.

>this is the nuclear option. US spent 3 years trying to deny china access to advanced chipmaking tools. china just responded with chokehold on literally every semiconductor fab, AI data center, defense contractor, and EV manufacturer on earth.
damn, thats good then. fuck the USA kikes trying to bully the country they turned into a work slave (destroying american industry in the process)
our only enemy is the kiked system
>>
There are alternatives to china in the works
Japan funded Vietnamese mines over the last 10 years that now account for 40pc of their supply
Angola is on track to produce by 2027
The united states was actually the biggest supplier of rare Earths until the Chinese came in. That was all from a single mine iirc. They tried getting it back up and running a few years back, but the Chinese squeezed them out again. Should be possible to bring that back online relatively quick esp if burgers make it a nat soc priority
That said, these new restrictions might just be part of the us trade negotiations - t bh from the outside it looks like things are going south; need the press to actually do their job and get some leaks. Can't rely on either trump or xi regimes to provide good info officially

>>

That's fine.
Prices will go up because of this.
The other possible read here is that Xi has become AGI-pilled and if we're about to see a nationalised effort. The halt on h200 orders, now this.
>>
>>106840723
One is done by the US government, with controls in place by the US government to ensure that the impact to the economy is minimized. The other is done by the Chinese government, with the likely goal to force the US government to remove tariffs and create more beneficial trade deals for China.
>provides more incentive for the US to decouple
That hasn't been working too well with the semiconductor shit, why would this be any different? The USA pissed away any competitive advantages they had by allowing companies to build factories in China and sell the products in the USA. Last I checked the US dollar's value was in free fall, so it's not like they'll be able to just subsidize their local production to compete with China either.
>>

Anons on X were saying this new goes beyond just rare earth and affects other things like drilling oil and gas.

AHAHAHAHAHA! Oh, you precious little tulip! "The navy visited, they're basically all Chinese now!" You sound like a nervous house cat reporting a particularly aggressive shadow. 'Visited'? That's not a visit, sweet cheeks! That's a goddamn HOSTILE TAKEOVER and you're calling it a tea party!

China isn't 'visiting' Africa, you damp napkin! They OWN the damned place! They didn't sail a big, friendly sailboat over to offer a loan with a handshake. They've got the deeds, the mines, the ports, and the local politicians in their back pocket, all for the price of a few shiny skyscrapers that'll be dust in a decade. It's a resource vacuum, you ninny!

And what's the Great Ol' U.S. of A doing while the natsocs are buying up the planet's backbone? Oh, they're INVESTING IN AI! BWA-HA-HA! Building a bigger, better calculator while the competition is cornering the market on FUCKING ROCKS that make your whole world GO! They're trading the very earth for an over-hyped chatbot that can write a term paper!

It's the ultimate gag, isn't it? The West is a corpse, too busy arguing about which pronoun to use and how to make a truly ethical algorithm, while the Dragon is simply saying, "Yours. Mine. Everything's mine." And you think a nice little 'visit' from a boat is the punchline? No, you are the punchline, you delusional little optimist! The world runs on magnets and minerals, and you've got your head buried in a silicon valley fantasy!

Keep coping, darling. Maybe your AI will write you a sweet little lullaby about how everything's going to be just fine! HAHAHAHAHA!

all the research for clean and efficient extraction and refining is done in china for the past few decades, and even if trump goes the next election cycle (he won't, he's in like hitler) and america builds their shit in the turd world it'll be an unmitigated disaster. also china dominates a spectrum of the supply chain which no other country has the competency to replicate.
america built shit because of the education pipeline. nothing is getting done without that getting fixed. instead america is getting bled dry by private equity in a dizzying number of aspects that there is no conceivable hope for anyone to patch them all in any sort of timeframe. the asset hoarding that comes from this only enforces the feedback loop and further seals your decline.

The US mines should spin up quickly once the price of the commodity increases, thanks to China, and US production becomes economically feasible.
Furthermore the tarrifs are no looting, although plenty of that is happening, they are a tax increase. The state needs to raise funds and an income tax increase is a political nogo. The tarrifs on the other hand tax those who spend and is popular with atleast half of the country. You also have the added benefit of possible on-shoring.
The US empire is in the terminal phase but that phase can last near a long time, easily the lifetime of you or I.

All that will happen is things will get more expensive, quality of life will decline a bit, and life will do on. The masses hardly notice as long as they have their Netflix and corn syrup.

Tariffs are broadly unpopular and the only people supporting them are christcuck boomers whose only political position is keeping Zion Don in power to serve Israel.

This is before the impact of tariffs has properly made its way to people’s wallets too. Some tariffs haven’t come into effect, some goods are still coming out of untariffed inventory or ships who left port before the cut off date. Many companies said they would eat the cost, for a time, but eventually would have to raise prices.

He’s completely crashed the economy and the only thing propping it up is massive spending on AI.

The revenue isn’t even being used to pay down the deficit, it’s being used as leverage to increase the debt even more.

The government shutdown is about preventing the Epstein files from being released and exposing the Jewish pedophile blackmail ring that Zion don is a part of.
>>
>>106844287
deficit and debt are two different things, regardless the debt will always increase because that is how the systems is designed.
Without the tariffs money would have to be raised some other way and we would still be in the same shit situation. Why do you think the student loan program changed? Another easy day to gin up some revenue.
Trump is clearly an agent of the regime and things would play out much the same regardless of who was president.
>muh Epstein
Who cares? They are all dirty. Every politician and person in power. You don't need to see the files to know this. The empire runs on blackmail and this is not new. Epstein is dead and someone took his place and it is still happening. It will always happen. Wake the fuck up

>now there is not only is China not buying soi beans from the US, the US can't sell soi beans ANYWHERE because Argentina lowered global soi bean prices by 50% by selling to China

I remember when Americans would cope saying they could starve China out for years. Now they're buying $0 in American agriculture because there's no incentive for them to do so. They only purchased expensive American farm products because it hinged on a trade deal with them. With the US backing out of the trade deal and threatening to tariff China (Trump is now on a 270-day tariff pause with China) there's no need for China to buy shit from the US anymore, and they can get agriculture 50% cheaper because Brazilian farmers work for $10,000 a year instead of $100,000 a year.

nigger please china is an export market they have weak domestic market, they are the factory of the world for a reason, they cannot sustain it's self without selling shit to others.

15 percent of the us economy depend on imports, that 15 percent was carrying entire world economies + china.
With tariffs and trade war china has had to shill their shit else where threatening other countries weak industries that depended on us trade to survive, with chink entering causing people to protect citizen jobs.

rare earth metals mines closed down cause of how cheap chinks sold them that is all.

trade is a two way street you finance brained drooling kiked retard. what the fuck does america have to offer to china outside of 999nm trash ti86 tier chips and gmo soi? some bullshit piece of paper. only because the gravity well of massive pyramid scheme #726481 we call the american capital market has "deep liquidity" ie. the mutts printed so much money it's impossible to wade through it all.
decoupling isn't about the collapse of lines on a graph, it's about the cessation of hemorrhaging real imports for paper backed only by retarded and usually traitorous politicians around the world who all got regime changed into their respective positions.
>muh rare earths
the point of the latest directive is not just the secondary export bans which is a smokescreen, but the ban on export of technological expertise overall and the sale of any equipment pertaining to the entire supply chain. like someone else said you don't show up to the mountain with a minecraft pickaxe and start going at it. going further with the analogy, mining coal is like vanilla beta mc and refining rare earths is like 100%ing a 1.7 gregtech modpack.

Most people don't know what mineral reserves mean. It is not a measurement of how much material there is in the ground of any country. Nobody actually knows that. Reserves means mineral resources that are economically feasible to extract. Reserves can increase due to an increase of the mineral resources or price of the commodity, and it can decrease due to depletion of known resources or a fall in the commodity price. Any graph showing reserves is specific to whatever market conditions it was made in.
What you are trying to communicate with this graph would be better demonstrated by resources rather than reserves, but even then that's not an unbiased quantity because it is influenced by how much priority a country has put into developing their resources through core drilling.

US will have to try to suck off Brazil hard to get these exports.
Considering how Brazil's quickly growing commodity and production sector is in many ways funded by the Chinks and even some European entities, US will have to give them really damn good deals to even have a hope of getting their foot in the door.

Anyone thinking that the US is going to be producing themselves, that's not going to happen.
You not only need to spin up the aging mines, you also need the permits for that and this is a multi year process.
They also need to build the processing capability, so that's another 5-10 years that's going to be spent for permitting, funding and construction.
Then the most crucial thing which is the energy infrastructure, something US doesn't have at the moment. Their grids are going to be fucked under data center energy demand alone.
And last part, they also need the infrastructure for the workers.
You're looking at burgers basically being forced to build entire self contained mining towns out of the blue and everything taken into consideration, this simply won't play out.
South America is their only option and the only one with massive reserves or rare earth is Brazil.
Not that any of this was a surprise, this was seen coming miles away by anyone with even the slightest amount of brain activity.
Unfortunately the top boomers in power still live in the 80's, where the US is the only real world power and can just make demands and people will cave in instantly, something that hasn't been the case for years.

US companies outsourced because US gov implemented regulatory limits on how companies can operate and taxed them too hard such that it was cheaper for them to build factories 10000 km away and ship them here.

The answer is simple. Reduce US tax on companies. Reduce us regulations on companies. These 2 will bring back US companies back. Further, if you want to do this faster, apply high import tax and to allieviate the companies so they dont create shock to the companies/destroy them, implement 1:1 tariff credit. Where every dollar invested into US factory relieves tariffs duty. Maybe make it 2:1 for first year, 1:1 for 2nd year, 50 cents:1 dollar 3rd year, etc. Such that there's leniency for initial year and diminishing reliefs the year on after.

Then scrap all other loop holes like NAFTA tariff reliefs from Canada/Mexico where companies make factories in those countries cause its still cheaper tax and looser regulatory reform.

If the tax/regulatory reforms arent low enough, even if companies setup base in US, it either becomes extremely expensive or they bankrupt.

I was going to say reducing regulations will just turn it into India. It honestly doesn't fucking matter since India is polluting the entire planet as it is, just fucking ban any imports from India and kill their industry off until they stop being 60 IQ street shitters about everything.
>>
>>106860056
There's a reasonable limit. US has technologies that alleviate lot of the older concerns about pollution. Hell, we can even make it easier for companies by simply having companies dispose/process their waste through 3rd party companies that deal with those issues. Such that it doesnt become a make/break deal for companies. AI companies in the US for examples are facing local political opposition that want their share of the pie from the company. A protection fee. Where they would slander the companies that are building data centers.

Political grifting fee occurs when there are too much regulation roadblocks for companies to setup and grifters insert themselves into every process to stop/slowdown and increase the cost for companies that want to setup a factory.
>>
>>106860123
If we have to compete with other countries that don't have the same level of regulations we do, then our companies will move manufacturing over there unless there's sufficient incentive to keep it here (like tariffs). Free market is a retarded proposition in a global market with places like India and China.
>>
>>106860134
Free market works because we have technology that counter act their numbers. We have an educated workforce that counter acts their numbers.

What doesnt work is when you grift too hard that companies in the US fail regardless of whether there is competition over seas or not because of internal regulatory and political problems preventing the success of the company.
>>
>>106860151
>because we have technology that counter act their numbers
No matter what you say, a company that dumps all the waste into the river will have less operating costs than one that is forced to handle waste responsibly.

why are you so eager to reduce your quality of life to that of the third world

Strawman doesnt work. This isn't the 1900s anymore.

I'm not, I gave a fucking example of how to encourage manufacturing in the USA without doing that when I mentioned tariffs. Oh, but tariffs are a trump thing, and orange man bad.

As an australian I firmly support nuking these slanty eyed alien fucks.

India doesnt have technology that the US has. Nor the capital. There are rolling blackouts throughout the country. Their regulatory framework stops investments from outside world and hence will stay a 3rd world country for another 50+ years.

Can't wait for the Trumper tears in November when this decision comes down. Only the auto and metal tariffs with remain.

I originally hoped the orange man would win but that was before I realized he was actually serious about all of these tariffs,

Trump proved he is a moron with this trade war nonsense.
>>
>>106860172
None of those regulations relate to improving the quality of life for the average person.

>Trump proved he is a moron with this trade war nonsense.
It would have worked if the rest of the entire fucking planet wasn't sick of us being Israel's vassal. Things may have been a lot different if Europe immediately dropped off all their pre-Trump tariffs and we didn't need to compete against them along with China.

Yeah no

Even if US pull back all the companies, there's no way to say that China cant out compete US and make US globally irrelevant.

I bet you think the economy wasn't too bad under Biden, the shut down is the GOP's fault, and staying coupled to China is good.

And they one of the top countries we owe money to. Like Japan and the UK are the only ones who hold more US debt than China. If they didn't like it they could tell the US to eat shit.

So just get their approval.
The Chinese are reasonable people, Xi is the leader of the free world, so this shouldn't be too hard unless you're an American who started a trade war.

This is such a retarded take.
America was already crushing Europe economically.
Americans already make 3 times more than the average European and live in houses 5 times bigger while owning 6 times more cars.

What else do you guys want from us?
The American century has been extremely bad for Europe and I cannot wait for China to become the new hegemon.

china and india's economic power is rooted in the sheer fuckton of people they have
good luck trying to compete by playing on their level
>>
>>106863119
No, it's rooted in the fact they don't give a fuck about things like environmentalism and so when the west 'voluntarily' deindustrialized there was no where else for the industry to go. India and China have been overpopulated since the beginning of time, it was always a detriment that resulted in squalor and poverty until recently when the west surrendered all of its technology just so some tree huggers could sleep soundly at night.
>>
>>106863140
please fuck off with this midwit take
the west deindustrialised long before the environmental lobby had any power.
they deindustrialised because they wanted the cushy service jobs so they could create a generation of brainwashed little faggots like you.

There's a narrative that China has the upper hand in its confrontation with the US. Nonsense. US tariffs are crushing China's export sector, which must divert goods to all kinds of places, suffering a huge hit to margins in the process. Hence China's hardball on rare earths

You think it's bad now, you'll be begging Israel/USA to become the world power again. The USA sent niggers and identity politics into your country, but China is going to teach you the true meaning of slavery.
>>
>>106864369
>US tariffs are crushing China's export sector, which must divert goods to all kinds of places, suffering a huge hit to margins in the process
Is your image supposed to be supporting your claim that the tariffs are hurting China? The surplus from other countries rose far more than the hit it took on the US surplus.
>>
>>106841114
It's even worse than this. If you're curious, there's a map that shows which african countries received funding (bribes) from china, and it's pretty much every single one.
