>>106845693Fedora is not "controlled" by IBM, otherwise why would they default to btrfs and KDE?
>>106846030Anon you and I both know its to cover their tracks after caught giving punchcard tech to the Nazis. They will turn the moment they don't have to do this.

>>106845557I'm on Fedora KDE, I'm tempted to try out Kinoite or Aurora but feel like it would just be a hassle and I would be prevented from installing whatever package I want now with dnf and run into complications for no reason. The only time I have problems with this Fedora KDE install is when a kernel updates to a bad one and for instance it won't shutdown or boot properly sometimes or some other issue, which are rare but it does happen. Otherwise I'm literally issue free.
>>106845557I'm not using red hat shitware
>>106845927Anon, IBM hasn't made PCs in 20 years.
>>106845557>ImmutableCompletely destroys the whole point of open source which is that you can inspect and modify all the software that's running on your computer
>>106845557>Distroboxoh neat, will play with it more. still dont see the reason for immutable? might be good for appliance things like steamdeck or some turnkey solution?
>>106845557I can always tell when a person has never tried an immutable distribution because they pretend it's a viable solution to literally anything.
>>106845557That kind of distribution is not for regular users, that's for servers. The logic is the updates are predictable and users cannot mess up the system packages. You as a regular user shouldn't care about that.
