Is there any significance to a fully singleplayer game prompting Windows firewall to block it, could it be a trojan virus?

the battlefield series is an online multiplayer game

Battlefield 4 isn't a purely single player game, numbnuts.

I'm specifically discussing a singleplayer game that was pirated, I pulled a random screen grab from the internet
>>
>>106845958
It will steal your password
>>
>>106846005
Well, you pulled the wrong one. Good job.
Also even pirated games try to connect to the servers to get updates and to validate their licensing. You should block the thing on your firewall before running it.

>>106846005
Singleplayer games still have telemetry included by developer, didn't you read EULA? It's 2025
>>
>i only planned on playing the single player mode
>why doesnt my computer know this??!!
>>
>>106846005
That is not a single player game, you join up with 63 other people and try to blow each other up.
>>
>>106845958
Hopefully you’re not a fucking retard and are testing a pirated old game for the first time in a VM, so who cares?
>>
>>106846029
Literally no one does this
>>
>>106846014
>>106846018
Even a singleplayer game from 2017 with no online features? I just don't recall the firewall prompt for any other game I've played other than those with online leaderboards or multiplayer.
>>
>>106846014
Midwit.
>>106846025
Literally can't read.

Internet today.
>>
>>106846046
No one who has a Trojan does this*
FTFY
>>
>>106846005
>a singleplayer game
Battlefield 4 is not one of them.
>>
>>106846054
>Even a singleplayer game from 2017 with no online features?
Yes. Even a 2011 game with no multiplayer.
>>
>>106846068
Nice arguments, cockbreath. Maybe don't come here with your stupid fucking questions if you have no idea how pirated games work.
>>
>>106846456
Im not OP.
Im just laughing at you that you are not capable of basic skills like reading. Did you try to make your self look interesting to scratch your ego ? By calling him out on picture and then proceed to spout crap ? Did it make you feel good like you cummed a little didn't you ?
>>
>>106846467
Everything stated on that post is factual, you should always block pirated games from connecting to the internet.
Is this how you normally get attention, tubby?
>>
>>106846005
>p-piwated
>also the image I used is of a different game
Then you're useless. Retard. Maybe the game you're too terrified to reveal the name of had something injected into it because you're a poor retard and decided to pirate it instead of buy a legal copy. Enjoy your digital AIDS.
>>
>>106847726
You guys act like you need a pop up picture book, it's frankly ridiculous. The reason the image was used because it was a quick google of windows firewall popping up for a game. The context was given in the text of the opening post, so I have no idea why you pretend to be retarded, it's obviously authentic.

lots of game developers try to collect data on you, even for single player games. The least nefarious reason would be to track online achievements and similar metrics like average play time, weapon use, ect so they can fine tune their next product. Sometimes single player games connect to check for updates, provide you with [current thing] news, and so on, or to provide you with unique content/daily runs/challenges/holiday content/ladder systems/ect. Sometimes they connect to verify your copy is legitimate. I remember back in the day, even flash developers would sometimes add a little phone home command just so they could see exactly how many people were playing their shitty little games. It's not as unusual as you seem to think.

it goes without saying, that the more nefarious ones are just straight up stealing your pc/location/webbrowswing history/ect info to resell like everyone else simply becuse they can. Just block it if it concerns you.

Does this mean theres a virus or whatever? Theres no way for anon to know. You keep acting dissmive and fixating on the wrong parts of the conversation.

the tldr is that is that it is possible for a single player game to want internet access for legitimate reasons. Without you explicitly telling us what the fucking game is, we can only guess why that might be.

>hurr durr
You're hiding what game you actually got the popup for out of shame or fagtardation and are trying to make yourself look like the "smart one" in spite of that fact. That's just sad.
>>
>>106845982
Based, now let's all go back to ricing desktops with underage anime girls
>>
>>106846014
Windows doesn't activate this popup when connect is called but when bind is called
>>
>>106848118
bind?
