China will do the same and take back what they're doing, right? They're going to buy agricultural goods and start exporting minerals to the US again and back off from their threats, right?

Think about it from the non-US perspective. China is already most countries top economic and trade partner. China isn't threatening to annex sovereign European territory or invade and regime change random South American countries for oil.
Chinese backdoors are simply less of a threat to most nations then American backdoors and always on corporate spyware that's inseparable from the US gov.

I love it how when they try their little propaganda campaigns like this, they tell them to try to gaslight people as stupidly as they can, expecting them to take them at face value. It's so dumb and embarrassing to watch.
At least the Russians are subversive and try to get under your skin.
>>
>>106853121
Yes, but these are 'over and above' any existing tarifff. So now you'll have the price, plus a 100% tarifff (that's currently cancelled) PLUS yet another 100% tarrriffff (that will also be cancelled).
SO tldr, you'll now have to pay the full same price you did before, and not a penny less. That'll taught 'em chinks.
>>
>>106854926
Trumpstein... I kneel... I can't wait until you back off the tariffs on October 31st, and then say you'll reimplement them on January 1st 2026 (only to back off on December 31st)... So that families can buy gifts on Black Friday and for Christmas without spending a penny extra...

America is already terminal and in its death throes it will lash out at friends and enemies alike. American billionaire elites proudly show off their doomsday bunkers and island fortress compounds. Their whole goal is to let it all fail and then carve up the carcass to create their "network state" private kingdoms. Their only hail mary that they're putting all their resources into chasing is AGI, but China is clearly leading in fundamental AI research while the US only leads in marketing spin and trying to hyperscale existing LLM technology with trillions in borrowed money which evidence suggests won't work.

It's funny how little China is affected by the US tariffs. Majority of the goods are either 1) Not affected by tariffs since Trump keeps pussying out or 2) Transshipped since businesses either didn't front load or don't have the storage capacity (small/medium businesses) thus making consumers pay more

Every country is doing more business with China, both in exports and imports.

>can't sell raw materials to US?
>sell to China
>China sells finished goods to you
>Brazil's coffee beans tariffed (now Starbucks closing stores and losing money)
>China buys up coffee beans and now pushing Starbucks out of China

Is there ANYTHING the US is doing right?

You literally have no idea how rare metals work. Do you think rare metals are worth hundreds of billions? Rare metals are cheap as fuck, with each element individually worth a billion each, if that. The problem isn't the price. It's how critical they are in every industry. And China keeps it artificially cheap.

If you spend $10B over 5 years building a single mine and a single refinery, China will open the doors back up and crash the market again making you go bankrupt for investing.

I'd suggest learning about things before talking about it.
>>
>>106855295
>Do you think rare metals are worth hundreds of billions?

>>
>>106855295
Adding onto this, in case anybody else, like the ESL, wants to know more about rare earth minerals.

The US imports less than $1M worth of gallium from China every year, yet China controls 95% of the supply chain. Without it, virtually every electronic cannot be made because they require a miniscule amount of it.

ESLers really shouldn't have an opinion on anything.
