So, Lutris is having issues running Windows games on my system lately.

This is on Linux Mint, and I don't know what the fuck I did, but all that happened was I reinstalled my OS and copied my Home folder back to my system, and suddenly, Lutris doesn't want to function anymore.

I even tried reinstalling Mint again, without copying any hidden folders in my Home folder back, and it's still doing this same shit. How can I fix this?

settings files are probably not pointing to the correct locations. I never use lutris anymore I just run everything through proton/steam, makes shit easier.

>>
>>106858950
And?

Do you have any idea why this might not be working? Could it have something to do with Secure Boot? Could it have something to do with Nvidia? Could it have something to do with NVRAM keys?...
>>
>>106858956
How would this happen when I installed Lutris on a brand new system with nothing on it? I only copied things in my Home folder afterwards. It's the same exact way I installed it the first time (and yes, I did it through the Software Manager), which worked, but I'm at a complete loss as to why this is happening now.
>>
>>106859006
I was under the assumption you copied the lutris files that live in your home folder over from old install. Most config files live in the home folder, so if you copy them over they maybe be incorrect for your new system.
>>
Did you install wine properly with all dependencies? Start lutris from terminal with
 lutris -d
and google any error you see (errors, not warnings or notes)
>>
>>106859042
No. I did that the first time, which is why I reinstalled my OS again, this time without copying any hidden files over, no system files, no nothing.

Unless it stores some config files that aren't hidden in system directories like .var, and are visible to the user that I am just somehow missing, then I have no idea why this is happening.
>>
>>106859048
Starting it from the terminal does not work with the Flatpak version. I didn't need to install Wine manually anyway, since Lutris did that for me.

Can you tell me how I can run it from the terminal with the Flatpak version? Because I can't find an answer for that, for some reason...

I had a similar problem with lutris not even running Linux native games, there were a set of libraries that it depends on that were updated but not all of them so when I finally got everything current the games ran fine.

No idea honestly, I'm not using flatpack and I always install wine from repo. Why are you using flatpack Jookie? Just install it normally
>>
>>106858914
Speaking off, is there an easier way to launch games on Linux than running everything through a launcher? I like how easy they make running games, but it would be nice to have something that did most of that stuff in the background without a bloated Steam knockoff tacked onto it.

You think a Linux noob can figure out how to use GitHub?

I'm more confused on the fact that it ran perfectly before, and now it doesn't. Mint is a noob-ass distro for people who shouldn't have to deal with crap like this.

You have fresh install now, I would at least try to install wine and lutris from repo. It really isn't that complicated, there must be some guides on mint forum. This isn't even the Flatpak version the output is printed from, this is the System Package version now, because I already started getting terminal output by the time someone told me how to do it with the Flatpak version. But it's not like either of these work anymore.

You need to fix your environment. Something is clearly wrong -
>you don't have necessary dependencies installed
or
>you don't have necessary environment variables pointing to the correct location
Maybe use perplexity.ai and give it your error message, it'll scour internet for you.
Asking 4chan and /g/ of all places is often useless and in this case, as linux gaming is a massive turd, odds are really small that you're going to get someone else to work it out for you.
>>
>>106860744

But I can assure you my graphics card still works in a different capacity, FlightGear flight simulator isn't giving me any issues.

I don't know how, but this is what I'm trying to do...

If this is because of the Haswell Vulkan thing, things were giving me warnings about that when it worked before, anyway. Can't say I've seen Lutris logs specifically, before, though.

Open lutris, go to preferences and click on system. Scroll down to graphics and check if lutris can see your nvidia card, if not you aren't using it. Also check on top of system info for vulkan support.
>>
>>106861259
It says "Vulkan support: YES" and:
[Graphics]
Vendor: Unable to obtain glxinfo
Vulkan Version: 1.3.261
Vulkan Drivers: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 (HSW GT2) (1.2.305)

But this isn't the same as if I were using the actual integrated Intel graphics ("Power Saving") mode, which instead would say:
Vulkan support: YES
[Graphics]
Vendor: Intel
OpenGL Renderer: Mesa Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 (HSW GT2)
OpenGL Version: 4.6 (Compatibility Profile) Mesa 25.0.7 (git-742a20f48c)

OpenGL ES: OpenGL ES 3.2 Mesa 25.0.7 (git-742a20f48c)
Vulkan Version: 1.3.261
Vulkan Drivers: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 (HSW GT2) (1.2.305)

There is a clear difference between the two. The Lutris logs also look like this when using NVIDIA "Performance Mode":
[INFO:2025-10-11 20:40:00,381:application]: Starting Lutris 0.5.19

So, it's able to use both integrated graphics and the Nvidia card. I guess it just really wants to use Intel for Vulkan.

But like I said, the game still worked before even when using integrated graphics exclusively.
