So, Lutris is having issues running Windows games on my system lately. This is on Linux Mint, and I don't know what the fuck I did, but all that happened was I reinstalled my OS and copied my Home folder back to my system, and suddenly, Lutris doesn't want to function anymore.I even tried reinstalling Mint again, without copying any hidden folders in my Home folder back, and it's still doing this same shit. How can I fix this?
Works on my machine
>>106858914settings files are probably not pointing to the correct locations. I never use lutris anymore I just run everything through proton/steam, makes shit easier.
>>106858914install Bottles
>>106858950And?Do you have any idea why this might not be working? Could it have something to do with Secure Boot? Could it have something to do with Nvidia? Could it have something to do with NVRAM keys?...
>>106858956How would this happen when I installed Lutris on a brand new system with nothing on it? I only copied things in my Home folder afterwards. It's the same exact way I installed it the first time (and yes, I did it through the Software Manager), which worked, but I'm at a complete loss as to why this is happening now.
>>106859006I was under the assumption you copied the lutris files that live in your home folder over from old install. Most config files live in the home folder, so if you copy them over they maybe be incorrect for your new system.
Did you install wine properly with all dependencies? Start lutris from terminal with lutris -d and google any error you see (errors, not warnings or notes)
lutris -d
>>106859042No. I did that the first time, which is why I reinstalled my OS again, this time without copying any hidden files over, no system files, no nothing.Unless it stores some config files that aren't hidden in system directories like .var, and are visible to the user that I am just somehow missing, then I have no idea why this is happening.
>>106859048Starting it from the terminal does not work with the Flatpak version. I didn't need to install Wine manually anyway, since Lutris did that for me.Can you tell me how I can run it from the terminal with the Flatpak version? Because I can't find an answer for that, for some reason...
>You WILL install the launcher for the launcher that installs 50% of 50% of the time on Linux™No thanks, Linuxjeets. I'll be sticking to Win10, the white man's OS.
>>106858914You're not going to like this answer, but it's because of jews (really).
>>106859160Have fun having the shortest service life of any major Windows release :)
>>106859190Imagine pissing off the Jews so badly that they break Lurtis.
>>106859160>50% of 50%Bro can't reduce fractions.
I had a similar problem with lutris not even running Linux native games, there were a set of libraries that it depends on that were updated but not all of them so when I finally got everything current the games ran fine.I wish I had more info for you

>>106859141No idea honestly, I'm not using flatpack and I always install wine from repo. Why are you using flatpack Jookie? Just install it normally
>>106858914Speaking off, is there an easier way to launch games on Linux than running everything through a launcher? I like how easy they make running games, but it would be nice to have something that did most of that stuff in the background without a bloated Steam knockoff tacked onto it.
>>106859365You think a Linux noob can figure out how to use GitHub?I'm more confused on the fact that it ran perfectly before, and now it doesn't. Mint is a noob-ass distro for people who shouldn't have to deal with crap like this.
>>106859385You can make shell script shortcuts that just run a command like WINEPREFIX=/home/username/pissjar WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput=n,b” mangohud /home/username/game/japanesepervertgame.exeor something like that
>>106859324>No point-by-point peer-reviewed refutation with multiple sources per argument I accept your concession
>>106859365>>106859398*It's not like either version offered on the Software Manager works for me anymore, anyway.
>>106859398You have fresh install now, I would at least try to install wine and lutris from repo. It really isn't that complicated, there must be some guides on mint forum. I don't know what kind of games you play, but I never had any problem with version from repo (that can't be fixed) and I have almost 100 games installed on debian stable.

>>106859416Dude, you are very narrow minded. Imagine looking back on this in the future when you've gotten smart, or not.
>>106859405I suppose, I just wish there was a middle ground. Like a simple GUI for setting up prefixes and shortcuts and all the other tweaks you might need, but without having to start a full featured gaming launcher.
>>106859446>Ad hominem Uuhm honey you better lean to argue before posting again, okay?
>>106859447So you want to click add desktop/application menu shortcut in lutris?
Just installed linux and been testing things. Seems like gaming is still a total clusterfuck.I don't mind editing config files, in fact that's what I prefer to do but still. Don't even want to type more than this.
>>106859432I want you to tell me why this isn't working anymore when it worked previously. I want you to tell me what could be different, anything at all.I'm not going to install the same thing from a different source just to circumvent trying to fix what's broken on here.
>>106859468lutris is just point and click
>>106858914I switched to heroic because lutris kept letting me down
>>106859463Essentially, but unless I'm retarded or having a stroke, launching the shortcut also launches Lutris. If not I have to jump off the Heroic and bash my head against the wall trying to make Lutris install a VCRedist properly for once in it's life.
Op. Just install arch + nvidia drivers. You dont need more. Try this toohttps://github.com/DavidoTek/ProtonUp-Qt
